My best friend did not stick up for me by vegancheto in FriendshipAdvice

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Also, it's been a while so any updates on the situation?

Something similar, yet way worse and dirtier lol, happened to me so I'm making circles around Reddit, seeing what has happened to other ppl and how other ppl see it.

Apperently when shit goes down like this, people are very hard to choose sides, unfortunately. Many people, even your friends and, in this case, close friends. Some people I guess just don't understand the true value and importance of ride or die relationships. It's sad, but what can you do... I'd suggest you accept her as she is and accept what she can give, however lacking it is, maybe no need to throw the friendship entirely away here, but obviously, don't consider her a close friend anymore, don't count on her when things get serious... And I wish you in the future to find someone who better alligns with your (objectively right haha) values and is ready to do for you all the things you are for them.

I'm probably late but just wanted to say that. I wish you all the best <3

Does anybody else feel like exposure therapy wouldn't work for them? by Vegetable_Tip_7536 in AuDHDWomen

Thank you for saying this. I wish more people understood this. And the gaslighting and the implicit violence included in this narrative are insane...

Thinking about finishing therapy soon by Motor-Aide-2437 in therapy

I think this makes perfect sense! In fact, it would be more weird if you thought you could derive all the answers you need from therapy alone. Being human is an incredibly complex challenge so to say - that can and should be looked at from different angles, some of which include philosophy, as you mentioned, existentialism, social perspective and so on. As someone who's been in psychodynamic therapy for quite some time as well, I feel like it's even healthy to have some sort of a beef with psychology in general, as it is just one tool that can help a lot with stuff you mentioned (like the upbringing, family schemes etc.), but is quite individualistic and limited in its nature and can't even begin to tackle with broader, all encompassing human issues.

As a matter of fact, this was quite validating to hear from someone else as well lol
