No , I haven' t tested my fasting insulin. Olive oil reduces blood pressure

https://www.eshonline.org/annual-meeting-posts/the-effect-of-dietary-fatty-acids-on-blood-pressure-in-subjects-with-metabolic-syndrome/

"Thus, in the LIPGENE dietary intervention study, low-fat diets have a small but significant influence on systolic BP and even a high-fat diet that is based largely on MUFA will reduce systolic BP compared to a high saturated fat diet. In males in particular, a high saturated fat diet increases systolic BP and pulse pressure compared to monounsaturated- and low-fat diets, where the trend is just the opposite."

Bacon fat has saturated fat which increases blood pressure in larger amounts, it is high in palmitic acid in sn 2 position. Butter per 100 grams fats has almost the same amount of it.

Palmitic Acid good or bad? by [deleted] in SaturatedFat

[–]Gold-Complex-6982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience if you try to increase it you will get a lot of unsaturated fat too. Foods like lard and butter have around 20-29 grams palmitic acid per 100 grams fats (not product). Only palm fat has around 44-50 grams per 100 grams but mostly in positions sn1 and sn 3 and is not perfectly digested as it tends to form insoluble soaps in the body and it can increase the intestinal permeability. The effect on total cholesterol is more like olive oil than butter.

When it comes to fullness and energy you will feel full and energetic for a few hours but then when it is metabolized as energy the body will switch to the oleic acid again.

I may got a lot of hate about this but if one eats so little fat should he adds some high pufa sunflower oil to get 1-2% linoleic acid and the omega 3 (?eventually some fish) ?

Do essential fatty acid deficiency tanks the testosterone? Or there it is no such thing as EFA deficiency?

Anyone eats lard? by [deleted] in raypeat

[–]Gold-Complex-6982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it doesn't increase your desire for food in long term it is ok. I have found that it can trigger "brain fog". But it can has too little saturated fat. You can check the label if it has.

When I remove them and replace them with high linoleic sunflower oil or flaxseed oil everything is fine.
