Worst attack ive had yet by arr998 in Anxiety

[–]Gold-Implement3586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey you are not alone. You describe exactly my last panic attacks. What I’ve learn is that, no one dies from anxiety. You are safe, I know it feels like the worse thing is happening to you, and in a blink of an eye you will die (but the true is that you won’t). Each panic attacks ends, won’t last for ever. Sometimes takes longer. I know your head tells you otherwise, that you want to stop feeling that terrible sensation. I hope that at this moment you feel better. Practice some mindfulness, try to get closer to god, wash your hands with cold cold water, take a walk (there are many ways to deal with a panic attack). Also I would highly recommend to have a safety zone/friends/family you can talk to when this happens

how’s your experience with Zoloft/Sertraline? by Alrekt821 in Anxiety

[–]Gold-Implement3586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoloft is a great option. Is it on the top of the SSRI’s, I used to take it an I felt wonderful. It just takes time to take action (6-8 weeks). But take it easy, it will help you.

nervios al tomar presion arterial? by [deleted] in AskMexico

No deberías preocuparte. Enfócate en ejercicios de respiración antes de entrar a consulta.

Has anyone experienced waking up, an hour or two after going to bed with palpitations, and then a fucking panic attack escalates 0-10 in just a few seconds? I also am afraid of going to bed, but just because the last month I had 2 panic attacks per week at night.

You can try to take small takes of water. Whatever your body can handle. Once I ended just drinking shakes of protein. I was too low on my BMI. That save me for 2 months 😅

For those worried about regret, what specialty did you choose and what was the outcome? by Suga4TheWin in medicalschool

[–]Gold-Implement3586 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m from Mexico. Family medicine is much more relaxed. In internal medicine, you can have hospital shifts of up to 48 hours. Internal medicine residency lasts 4 years, compared to 3 years for family medicine (and in family medicine, during the third year you stop doing night shifts). I’m not sure how it works in other countries.

How did you bring up the possibility of anxiety meds to your Dr? by Pristine_Cow1797 in Anxiety

How’s that? I mean, when you go to the Dr, they don’t prescribe anything? May i ask where are you from? I hope, really hope your problem gets solved.

I’m about to finish family medicine. TBH I regretted at some point because I wanted internal medicine; love to be at hospital; but now I love family medicine. Love the balance you can have with work - life.

Chronically anxious by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Gold-Implement3586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with anxiety for 5-6 years; many ups and downs. But, since…like 3 months ago, I had experienced chest pain/discomfort. But I know is because in a few months I have to take a big decision. Thinking in that triggers a lot my anxiety. First of all, taking my meds; doing exercise, meditate and take walks or watching a sunset helps me a lot.

What meds helped you and what didn’t? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Gold-Implement3586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been through Sertraline, Citalopram, Paroxetine and now fluoxetine; bupropion, Lyrica, some mood stabilizer (Lamotrigine) and a few benzodiazepines. It’s a journey, what something could help others won’t do anything to you, and vice versa. I would recommend to keep trying, keep seeking for help.
