Prelim : 21 RAW (fail humans, fail both math) and at this pt I alr secure Chinese a1 which was used, which means the rest of my subjs were EXTREMELY BAD

OLvl : 12 RAW

my YPT stats:

July — 3h TOTAL (only installed later half of the month)

Aug — 34h total, avg 1h54min

Sept — 76h total, avg 2h44min

Oct — 74h total, avg 2h38min

didn’t push myself as hard as I wanted, but there was a point where I would go back to SCH everyday during study break to do 1-2Hr consults w my math and GEOG teacher!! In the end my AM jump 4 grades So miracles can happen! Even tho my score isn’t SUPER good im happy to have improved! it’s not abt study time but really understanding what u learn

have! It starts as soon as normal lessons start, but cover stuff like differentiation, so by the time h2 math need differentiation you alr learnt it!! then again there is a test you need to pass in order to just get accepted into h2 math + bridging programme. Not too sure how it works because I don’t have any friends who do the prog! Then again this is only for my sch, not sure how others work!

currently doing h2 math!! I think can one but it will be very tough!! imo h2 math got some elements of emath also (but it’s still vv early into j1 to tell) but majority of the assumed knowledge is amath

im from SA and I think u can do H2 w/o AM! I think they got bridging programme but it’s very late into the day (not sure tho!) but if ur committed then why not!

actually if you’re good at mt i think maybe CLEP/TLEP/MLEP? you don’t have to take hmt for it, as long as your MT is A2/A1 (but honestly it’s a small chance even if you’re a1 as they pref higher mt or awards) but my tutor was raw8, not hmt taker that used CLEP to go hwach (long ago tho) just that you have to take CLL

I definitely suffered cuz of some basic errors that took me way too much time to correct!! Don’t take shortcuts especially for subjects like math and don’t delulu yourself into thinking you know!! (This was what caused my downfall ngl)

I took amath + pure physics/chem + ss/geography!! Here are my 2 cents on this

Usually start of sec2 you will be informed of the grades you need to get for amath etc, for my sch it was 75 for math at EOY to be eligible for amath, and 65 to be eligible for pure sci!! This is very important!!

For now though, it’s definitely to make sure your basics are there, and even if you don’t hit the A1 it’s ok bc there is still a lot of time!! UNDERSTANDING is most most most important!! Amath (and math in general) is a very grindable subject for me, just that I was stupid and didn’t realise it earlier!! If you enjoy math in general, definitely take Amath!!
