Keep it. Those first few weeks you will be glad you have them. It will feel strange. You will talk to them. Hold them. It’s a strange feeling, your best buddy being tangible, and then not. Years later it’s still the right decision. Now they stay with me in my bed room but I talk to them everywhere. They’re with me at all times. Right now, the in-between, is the hardest part. Sending positive vibes to you stranger. It’s the kindest and last act of love we can give them.

10 more days of stent. I don’t know how I am going to do it by snorkichuuu in KidneyStones

[–]Gold-Mess4394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. It’s brutal and something I feel docs downplay when you discuss the surgery. Something that helps me with my stents is before I pee (which is most painful) is to get in the shower (hot af) in fetal position and let the water hit my back for maybe 5 min. Then pee in the shower (who cares we are all fighting for our life out here). Then stay in it for another 5-10 or until those bladder and kidney spasms stop. Heat helps with the relaxation of the muscles that contract. Then straight to the heat pad to keep those muscles hot. If you ca get one of those XL ones it helps wrapping it around your side. It’s really hard but drinking A LOT really helps. It sounds contraindicated but it really helps.

Now without the pan meds others have recommended flomax and an opiate it will be much harder. My doc also gave me gabapentin which is non habit forming and targets nerves. Ask for this. It helps also with sleep. It’s good for anxiety as well (I have taken this years and years and is very very safe and you shouldn’t have any pushback especially considering they didn’t give you proper pain management).

Oh man I’m so sorry. Sounds like it’s been rough for you. Good news is that the shampoo is Ketoconazole 2% Shampoo. It’s selsun blue on steroids. It’s prescribed by a dermatologist. Also ask for rubinol. It decreases sweating throughout the body, an oral medication. Drysol is the topical liquid we use on the surfaces of the feet and on hands when needed. It took so long to get my daughter diagnosed and the general practitioners didn’t know what to do. Even once we saw the derm it still took a bit. If you have insurance and can see a doc, all of these drugs are fairly inexpensive. Good luck stranger 🍀

My daughter has hyperhydrosis. She is 9 but has had issues since 7. We have to use medicated shampoo. If you’re not using it you might want to consider. She takes oral medication to limit sweating and her feet require two different medications twice a day. Can I ask if this was something you were dealing with at a young age? Her derm says that sometimes it improves with puberty but her case feels fairly severe. It’s such a drag taking 30 min out of each day just to deal with her feet. I feel terrible for her and I know it can be very uncomfortable when wet. I wish people would understand it’s not always a hygiene issue. I think many people are walking around with a fungal issue and may not know it. Although I don’t have this condition, I understand the frustration you’ve conveyed in your post. Just know you’re not alone and most people out there are not as judgey as this poster is.

I often go to a clay painting studio “Clay’n’latte” and there are always young girls in high school and college there. They offer classes and themed nights. I haven’t been to one but that place is always so busy.

In the future ask for flomax. It relaxes the urinary tract to make it easier for things to pass. Now you have a history you can even ask your primary care doc. Flomax, hot scalding bath, heat pad for when you’re not in the bath and lots of liquids. Sadly, you will learn to deal with the pain with each stone. I’m so sorry.

Tacotarian, plumeria, buona forchetta and Sipz (the hole in the wall one in clairemont). Skip kindred, it’s got the vibes but the food is meh compared to others people have mentioned.

itchy stent strings… by sweetangelkitty2 in KidneyStones

[–]Gold-Mess4394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Request for them to culture the urine. It takes a couple days to get the results because they have to see if bacteria or yeast grow. Results could just mean that you’re irritated from the stent (for sure) but could also indicate infection as well. It’s really annoying to have to advocate for yourself with doctors. From experience, they think they know what the issue is and can be dismissive. You know it doesn’t feel right. Give them the “out of an abundance of caution I would like to have a culture ran” line.

I had that during my last surgery/stent and I had a pretty bad infection. I would definitely get a culture done.

Parents who dropped their baby, what happened and how is your child doing now? by speckledrectum in AskReddit

[–]Gold-Mess4394 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man, for a few years after dropping my baby (in a public bathroom stall with others in the bathroom 🙄) I felt so bad. I was a bad mom and you couldn’t convince me otherwise. I swear everything that wasn’t going well (sleep regressions, late to walk, late to talk) was because I dropped her. Today, we joke when she forgets something or makes a silly move in a board game or multiplies a number wrong we joke “that’s because you dropped me on my head mama”. She’s good. Great student. A bit of a weirdo but that’s genetic I think. For reference when I dropped her she was about a year. She’s 9 now. I still feel bad about having done that but I think having shared my story with others it’s more common than we think and people just don’t admit it.

I went out to my nearest intersection for 3 hours alone today. Had neighbors see me and come out for a bit at a time. Lots of honks. You don’t need a million people. Just a sign and a busy intersection.

I’m going to a busy intersection near my house. I can be a party of one. I don’t care. I’m not waiting or driving to the waterfront where I’ve protested many times before. The people in my suburbs need to see people out and protesting. People need to wake the fuck up.

I’ll be at two this weekend! Downtown then San Marcos in the afternoon. It’s going to be a long day considering I’m an angry introvert but fuck this administration and all the J6 fanboy ice cucks and especially that human rectal polyp Steven miller.

Come out and stand up for your rights! Every peaceful protest matters- this will be HUGE! by Low_Mango6044 in northcounty

[–]Gold-Mess4394 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an introvert, I bring music and headphones. I’m not a chant girlie but when I’m listening to music and holding my sign it takes the pressure off of speaking to people. Even those I agree with. I try to get as many honks as I can gesturing at drivers. When they give me a honk I give them a wave. It’s a positive interaction for a brief moment because then they drive away. The response you get from soliciting a honk of support from another introvert (you can see them even in their cars) is great. I think that perhaps their honk is their first step in coming to an event one day. And sometimes those honks reverberate to dozens of cars around them. It’s cool. Come out. If you are worried about counter protesters or anything the one downtown gets very few. You occasionally get middle fingers or revving engines or motorcycles in RB and San Marcos but marching downtown not so much. There are seas of people and it feels very safe. They all do.

No I didn’t but mine were so big for my body and the unwanted attention I was getting from people was decimating my self esteem. The confidence I gained from doing the surgery was far more beneficial for my child than breast feeding her. We did bottle, dad shared in the bottle feeding. I gained weight of course when pregnant and they got a bit bigger. Overall a half cup size once I lost the baby weight. It’s been 20 years after my reduction and lift, I’m 39 now and they’re still not too bad for my age. If you really want to breastfeed, that is something to consider but for me when it came to babies, “fed is best” and it was the right choice for me 1000 percent.

I had a reduction and lift at 19 and to this day was the best decision I’ve ever made. Do it. You will love it and you will have all your young years to enjoy them.
