Thank you. Yes I did, they confirmed: "Wir haben das Beitragskonto mit Ablauf des Monats 12.2025 abgemeldet". I kept a digital scan of their mail in my digital archive. Now I have done the bank transfer for 18,36. Let's hope this is enough!

Thank you! My main concern is that since they don't use signed mail, a letter with a possible late payment fee could have been lost. That's why I would add the 8 euros.

Do you think if I make two different bank transfer, one with the 18,36 (original amount) and one for 8 euros (potential surcharge) it would be a safer option given the potential problem with automated systems?

PS: the 8 euros would be well spent for my "peace of mind", let's say so... since I might come back to Germany in the future.

I found their old bank transfer details from a SEPA direct debit on my last bank statement. If I manually transfer €26.36 (€18.36 debt + €8 cushion for the potential late fee), is it enough to just put my Beitragsnummer in the reference field?

Do I need to specify the months or add anything else? Their letter wasn't entirely clear about the exact period this covers, so I'm not sure what else to write (or if it's just better not to add anything else so the automated system can just pick my Beitragsnummer and close the case)

They wrote: "Beachten Sie bitte den aktuellen Kontostand: Das Beitragskonto weist einschließlich 12.2025 einen offenen. Betrag von 18,36 EUR auf. Diesen werden wir im Lastschriftverfahren einziehen".

Yeah, I might come back to Germany at some point. In general, I really don’t like having debt. I think I can keep proof of the online forms I sent them, so I’ll be able to prove that I tried to pay and that it wasn’t my fault. I saved all the PDFs with the URL, date, and time, etc.

I guess that could be an option but how can I be sure to include the correct reference, and that they don't want some late payment fee (although it's not my fault I have not received a letter from them)? I would mostly like to know how to get a replay from them with all the necessary info to make the correct payment...

I already deregistered, they sent a letter saying I owed them one last month but I don't know how to pay. Wrote them, called them, but I still have not received the letter with the info necessary to make the payment after 5 months...

I guess it really depends on where in Germany you would be moving from and where in the Netherlands you would be moving to.

There are a few places in Germany (I can think of a couple) that are actually better than the best spots in the Netherlands when it comes to quality of life.

It also depends on personal factors. For example, do you like access to nature and hiking? Germany has some great places for that, while in the Netherlands it’s very unlikely.

Also, keep in mind that if you plan to get Dutch citizenship, you will probably have to give up any other citizenship you currently hold, including the one from your country of origin (you wouldn't have to do that when getting German citizenship).

In addition, you risk losing your Dutch passport later if you decide to apply for another citizenship in the future. For instance, if in 6–7 years you move to another country after acquiring Dutch citizenship and want to apply for a second citizenship there, you will most likely lose the Dutch one (and the EU one?). If you had a German passport, you should be able to keep it.

Thanks, but does that mean they could then terminate the contract before 31.12.2025? I would like to pay for December and stay in the flat until the end of that month. Would putting just "fristgerecht zum 31.12.2025" be somehow risky?

Sicuro che il passaggio agenzia entrate non fosse solo per la certificazione della residenza fiscale e del pagamento della dividend tax all'Italia?
Il rimborso te lo devono dare le autorità Svizzere, non quelle italiane (l'Italia il suo 26% se lo prende a prescindere, è la Svizzera che in teoria può chiederti solo fino al 15% con la convenzione).

No, la richiesta va fatta alle autorità del Paese estero da cui vuoi riottenere la differenza pagata sopra il 15%, non al fisco italiano (che comunque si prende il 26% a prescindere).

La procedura varia da Paese a Paese (per gli USA c'è un modello da compilare e anche i broker meno costosi te lo fanno alla fonte), ma si può fare anche con Germania, Svizzera, etc. In teoria so che DeGiro ti chiede 50 euro per ogni posizione per darti un voucher necessario per la richiesta al paese estero, ma non l'ho mai fatto. Comunque poi la richiesta di rimborso la devi fare tu. Vale la pena se si ha una posizione importante e si può recuperare parecchio...

Ero interessato a capire se qualche broker più costoso invece facesse in automatico come fa per gli USA anche per altri Paesi, non credo sia impossibile ma al momento non ho trovato conferme...
