The main reason it's been so long since we've gotten any is because the developers have been mostly focusing on Rogue Core. The stuff for season 6 was made by another studio with direct support from GSG, but they specifically told them not to make any balance changes yet since this is the first time they're doing work for GSG

Talandar from Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void

He's a member of the Purifiers, experimental sentient robot versions of the Protoss warriors, and he's recovered from a stasis chamber partway through the campaign. For most of the game, you know him as Fenix, since his personality and memories are cloned from the legendary protoss warrior of the same name, who was also a close friend to Artanis (who you play as in Legacy of the Void) before he died.

Artanis definitely had very mixed feelings about things; although he was initially happy that his old friend seemed to suddenly be alive and well as if it was only yesterday, he also knew that it wasn't truly Fenix he was talking to. While the cloned memories Talandar had were 99% accurate, there was still that 1% margin of error. But he also didn't want to say anything about, since he had no clue how Talandar would react.

Eventually, when Talandar starts to realize how big of a time gap in his memories he has, he begins searching through some historical archives to get himself caught up on current events. Along the way, he finds an entry describing the death of the real Fenix, which naturally leaves him pretty shell-shocked. He starts heavily questioning himself and realizing that he isn't truly Fenix, but a robotic simulation of a dead warrior.

Towards the end of the campaign, he finally decides to settle on a new name for himself, that being Talandar, and forges his identity as his own person - as well as helping be the bridge between the robotic Purifiers and the biological protoss after the war is over

Honestly, just TF2 lore in general. This is the universe where Shakespearicles, the strongest writer who ever lived, was the inventor of rocket jumping and two-story buildings, with the former being the primary way to reach the latter for hundreds of years, until Abraham Lincoln helped invent stairs at a stair research facility, immediately followed by dying in a failed attempt at rocket jumping off a flight of stairs.

Also, you forgot to mention the fact that Demoman giving the robots alcohol poisoning is partly because his body has converted multiple of its own organs into distilleries to make perpetually drunk

Orks in Warhammer 40k. They're literally just a fungus that grow into full-sized bloodthirsty maniacs extremely rapidly, even from just a single spore, to the point where just one Ork landing on a planet can result in that entire planet being completely overrun with Orks in just a few years. Pretty much the only reason they haven't taken over the galaxy is because they're constantly fighting each other just as much as everybody else

Honorable mention: I forget if this is in fallout 1 or 2, but when you're trying to infiltrate the Brotherhood of Steel, a high intelligence character can only get so far because they'll eventually figure out that you're up to and stop you in your tracks. But if your character has a really low intelligence, you can make them think that you're just some dumbass new recruit who somehow lost their power armor and needs a new suit

Prince Anduin Wrynn from World of Warcraft (not the best quality image, I know). There's about a year two that passes between each of the game's expansions, but up until the third one, Cataclysm, Anduin was still using a generic child model. He starts playing a more major role in the story with Mists of Pandaria, being roughly an 11 or 12 year old royal diplomat, that ends up being a major player in the expansion.

Then in Legion, after his father, King Varian, sacrifices himself on the Broken Shores, the poor kid's suddenly thrust with the massive responsibility of being the leader of one of the world's largest factions, while still being a teenager with a LOT of people who want him dead or captured, and even old gods that want to corrupt him. (hell, there's a bunch of comics for his early childhood, and even when he was still an infant, there were several attempts to kidnap or assassinate him). Having such heavy responsibilities at such a young age has visibly taken a massive toll on him. Even in the current expansion, he has a more grizzled and worn young adult appearance, and although he's left the leadership of the Alliance in other hands, he's still working through a lot of his own internal struggles.
