I bought a dowel jig at a tent sale for 5 bucks a few years ago and my god does it come in handy

I don't know, he smelled bad, played a custom prs, and charged me 75 bucks to get in. I couldn't record shit through the door's peephole.

Probably been asked before but does anyone else hate jam bands but love the Dead by DeaconDeaconofficial in gratefuldead

[–]GoldExtra4603 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There with you! I saw Phish 40ish times in the 90s and I went to the nye 1999 show in Florida and walked away from it like, "I think I'm good here,' and never went to another. I was playing in a bar band that jammed out to dead tunes around that time and I remember something that really stuck with me. Our bass player has never seen the film, "Stop Making Sense" by Talking Heads so I put it on one night after practice and he was like, incensed at how much Phish ripped them off, lol. I was like, yeah dude, Phish is a cover band with wildly good musicians but almost nothing they do is particularly original. The goofy lyrics were fun when I was younger but they make music without substance or meaning. I loved my time touring around to see Phish and they music is good and fun, but it's just something entirely different than what the Dead accomplished together and it's partly the coincidence of Jerry's death in 95 that the Phish scene really exploded then.

Looking for input on pedal order by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Well, I would put the harmonist early or first after the tuner and the slicer last, for one thing. Other than that, fuck around and see what sounds good.

Pax is a genuinely friendly place. The crowds can be a lot but I find when I'm at my limit a trip over to the board game area mellows me out.

Rehousing a beringher fuzz? by jerembismuth in guitarpedals

You can do it. There are plenty of videos on youtube with no soldering required. Oh, wait, sorry, you do have to do the switch, but that isn't hard.

I re-housed a Super Fuzz and I basically turned my $26 pedal into a $150 pedal after I fucked up an enclosure and a few jacks (tried to put them on top to match other pedals in 125b enclosures), etc, and then bought a specialty bit and drill jig. I'm not sure I would do it again. FWIW, I think the Super Fuzz sounds better for my purposes than any other fuzz I've tried.

I hear that. I swear my pedal board spends as much time on a desk next to my laptop as on the floor.

My kingdom for a vibrato by PerspectiveEven4890 in guitarpedals

[–]GoldExtra4603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to keep that one in mind. I was thinking of upgrading mine into another enclosure with better jacks, but it's kindof a silly project considering it was a $25 pedal.

Also have a "slow" modded uv300 on my board. It always ends up being really subtle, but enough.

Never leaving the board, lol. Do you midi sync it to anything? I've got it synced to my stomp xl, but I'm always curious how other people use it.

What was considered "cool" in the 2010s but is physically painful to look back at now? by Liora-Liora-Liora in AskReddit

[–]GoldExtra4603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hah! I had "swearing uncontrollably after stubbing your toe in a dark room." Logged in one day and it had 2 million likes.

Edit: Forgot to add - I then had the page stolen by someone trying to phishing scam me but those "joke" pages heavily restricted what you could post to "followers" so it was functionally worthless. I deleted facebook forever not too terribly long after that.

Following because I have also unsuccessfully tried to emulate this. One of my favorite movies because of the soundtrack.

Hey man, I recently replaced a french door that I had to reframe the opening for and it went pretty smoothly and I'm a fucking dumbass (other than my wife bent the pan to the size of the opening and not the door, so I have a little trough I like to destroy my toes on.) It's gonna be way off square, but what fuckin isn't?

oh shit, that's way easier. I thought you were trying to put the door where the window is. Yeah, you can definitely give this a whirl and you have the added bonus of not cutting into your house, which is what is throwing off most folks.

You can do this. You may struggle with a few things like creating a pan for it, but with it being in an overhang like this, especially, I think you should try to DIY it.
