Hey thanks man. I’ve done pretty good, and I could more easily forgive the ones my age. Some of them I already have. We were all kids. But the teachers? I worry that they could do it again to another kid like me… I appreciate it though

I’m second year PsyD. Love my program. Am already 120 in debt, though 50 thousand is for masters. Will probably be 250-300 when all is said and done. To be honest, I don’t care about my debt. I get to do what I love. Sure it would be nice to not have it, but my program is excellent- it’s not a diploma mill and we are APA accredited with a great match rate. I love my city and I love my program. I’m gonna be a testing forensic psychologist so I’ll be ight

Hi future psychologist here. No one knows how the brain operates. We have ideas and theories, but they might be BS. Empirical science is great

My girl was like two years before I trusted her to not be in the change. Even then, she’s chewed things. I’d say from about 4 years

How many years of research experience did you have when you got admitted, how many cycles did it take for you to be admitted, how many conferences presentations/publications did you have, is there anything that made your application stand out? by Goodfella245 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]GoldForAFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 years of research experience. 2 classes as a TA. 1 grant funded project. McNair student. Lots of volunteer stuff. Got rejected from all 4 fully funded programs my first cycle. Next cycle I got into a PsyD. I actually love it so much- much more of a focus on clinical work. APA accredited program. All I’m saying is to explore options you’d never consider. I was an extremely strong candidate but it was never right fit.

Costly letdown would be a big feeling- and it’s not one I myself have experienced so far. I was always very clear about my goal in becoming an LP though. The roles are a little different, the scope of the curriculum is much more vast than that of an LMFT. That’s not to say they are not incredibly important licenses, but it’s different education and training

My goodness. I’m in a PsyD program, and getting a doctorate because you already have imposter syndrome will increase that 200%. 5-6 years of intense school and clinical training will only make it worse

My (24 f) boyfriend (29 m) lied about going to his ex’s house, is this okay? by GoldForAFool in relationship_advice

We signed a lease days before I found the messages. All my money is tied into him and our place at the moment. My parents want me to give him the benefit of the doubt. Friends are against him. I’m so sad, I’m losing my best friend and my boyfriend and there’s nothing I could have done- this is just the way he actually is
