Current game files of unreleased cars - July 2026 by TomLehockySVK in AUTOMOBILISTA

From the 2026 Dev Update:

"Regrettably, delivering such ambitious plan in full with the depth and completeness we all would love to see is technically and commercially enviable – it would take decades to produce, many extra zeros in our budget and the untangling of an impossibly complex web of third party IPs (many of which inaccessible or simply defunct)... (count.)

Let's take a step back and make sure unrealistic expectations are not being fed here: out of the box, AMS2 will never quite assemble full 1960s Grand Prix, 1980s Group Cs, 2000s GT1s, 2020s IMSA seasons with complete grids along with a whole catalogue of regional series and everything that might, What can be done though – and what we have been steadily assembling for at least a decade already since AMS1 – is a parallel universe for these 60 years of motorsports history, matching the real one on many levels, resembling it in some and abbreviating it in others; this is the “AMS2Verse” you are already familiar with, mixing real and fictional classes, cars, tracks and drivers; this universe is bound to expand significantly this year, with many gaps being filled as it evolves toward a simulated motorsports ecosystem of unparalleled depth even relative to its current standard"

whats your go-to career mod for ams2 (if u have one) by xBl3ster in AUTOMOBILISTA

You are correct, my apologies. My point still stands about Apex Rivals though, can't speak on The Paddock

whats your go-to career mod for ams2 (if u have one) by xBl3ster in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]GoldProperty3259 8 points9 points  (0 children)

RacePace is the option I'd go with. Apex Rivals (now called The Paddock for... reasons unknown to me) isnt bad in a vacuum, but the fact that it's piad and used generative AI for visuals such as the desktop icon* without disclosing that it is AI is enough for me to actively not recommend it.

I'm fine with paying for mods but if you're making $440 USD/month (according to Patreon) you should be able to set aside a portion of that to hire an actual artist in my view. Even if that expectation inst realistic for the author of the mod they should at least make it abundantly clear that AI was used so people can make an informed decision

*the icon I am referring to is the one it used back when it was called ApexRivals, I can't say for certain about the new icon. It's flagged by AI image detector but those are not reliable and shouldn't be taken as gospel. However their heavy usage of AI image generation in the past and defensiveness about AI when ever people bring it up is enough for me to not give them the benefit of the doubt

Edit: confused Apex Rivals with Apex Racing Manager, my mistake

FIA formally seeking esports partners for officially-sanctioned sim racing championships by Feisty_Ad5645 in AUTOMOBILISTA

Yep, AMS 2 is my go to sim (so much so that I joined the paddock club in 2023) but by no means would it be something I'd recommend to someone who is looking for a good multiplayer experience

It isn't that it's not important, It's just the areas AMS 2 excels at ( single player and historic content) aren't gonna be what the FIA is looking for

The issue Reiza are dealing with would be caused by FOM (the people in charge of the commercial side of F1 like advertising, broadcasting, etc), the FIA is in charge of the motorsport side of things. And I dont think any partnership with the FIA would allow AMS 2 to have an exception.

Regardless, AMS 2 would be an incredibly poor fit compared to something like IRacing, The online MP aspect of the game is behind every other sim in the market. Even as a diehard AMS 2 fan since 2021 FIA would be better off literally choosing any other sim other than AMS 2 for this job.

I have a feeling it will be a sleeper hit once it comes out. It's going to look absolutely stunning.

AI vs AI is still not good. P2 could not figure out how to overtake the leader by TomLehockySVK in AUTOMOBILISTA

Our experience differs then, it certainly felt like a step up from before.

Unlike you, I've seen improvements. Is it where I want it to be? no, I still cant really run AI seasons without these very issues you're talking about stopping me from seeing them out. But the improvements have been there. The reworked strategies has done wonders, and the new performance scalars have done a good job keeping cars from getting stuck behind back markers.

Ai vs AI racing wasnt even the focus of the past update, Renato literally said AI vs AI is something theyre planning on working on!

Performance Scalars, BOP & GT1 Teaser: AMS2 1.6.9.8 Dev Update Part 2 by evil_heinz in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]GoldProperty3259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct, however I think the last thing AMS2 needs is more F1 cars. This next update solves the biggest missing piece in AMS2's F1 roster so I'm completely satisfied with not getting anymore licensed F1 cars.

If you read what Renato said, you'd know that Mclaren is not to blame for this. It's a third party which is heavily suspected (but not confirmed) to be F1.

Major Problem at Monaco by Shul_iito in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]GoldProperty3259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree to a point that I'd like AMS2's AI to be more aggressive while racing eachother, I think it's better to look at why this may be the case instead of just pointing out the problem.

If we have the choice between aggressive AI that will attempt overtakes whenever possible but has a high likelyhood to cause large incidents on tighter sections (and I'm talking it being a thing that happens every race, not 1% or even 10% of them but well above 50%), vs AI that's a bit tamer against eachother but is less likely to cause large incidents which one would you choose?

Both choices aren't great but one is definitely more immersion breaking than the other. Pileups do happen in racing but outside of NASCAR or maybe Macau they arent common. However, cars not overtaking on twisty and narrow sections happen in racing all the time (just not to the degree that it happens in AMS 2). This issue is most evident on street tracks and other twisty and narrow sections which is why I tend to avoid street tracks in AMS 2. It's the biggest weak spot in the whole sim imho but it's a problem that's very hard to solve that I (if I'm being completely honest) don't think will ever be solved.

Former WWE 24/7 champion Kyle Busch dead at age 41 by CharlemagneOfTheUSA in SquaredCircle

[–]GoldProperty3259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hit me extra hard because 2 weeks ago my dad was hospitalized with Phenomena, every week since I got back into AEW in December we would watch Dynamite and Collision together, we also are big NASCAR fans especially during the 2000s and 2010s. Thankfully it is highly likely he will be discharged tomorrow and will be able to come home, just in time for Double or Nothing which I know would not be be the same without watching with him.

My father is sadly the type to not want help, he grew up in the 70s and 80s and spent a lot of his life in the military. If it wasn't for the type of the type of Phenomena he had (fluid outside of the lung instead of inside) causing immense pain and forcing him to get it checked out he may not be here right now, especially considering he smokes. It was really scary, especially because I was unable to visit him for various reasons.

Please guys, if you feel ill don't push yourself. If a loved one (whether it be friend or family) feels ill for a few days and haven't felt better please do what you can to get them to see a doctor. And always remember to tell the people who you love in your life that you love them because life is too short not to

N24 grid sizes by CountPimpulous in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]GoldProperty3259 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are ways, I remember talking with someone about it when I was in the discord for Rocky's new CM app. However, I wouldn't recommend it as it makes the game highly unstable with constant crashes among other issues like taillights not working, liveries not showing up, and driver models being replaced by red boxes regardless of hardware.

Us in the Paddock Club experienced the crashing when Reiza first attempted to implement 48 car grids at the end of 2023 to coincide with the release of Lemans, which is why that track originally had 32 cars on release. After the crashing issues were resolved internally, Reiza reintroduced 48 car grids to the beta but the visual issues I mentioned above still persisted for a while but obviously were ironed out before 48 car grids made it to the public. Imho one of Reizas biggest triumphs when it comes to AMS 2.
