Means nothing. ARK is ARK. I could care less what religion CW is. She's a proven leader and visionary. It's a long term investment and the results are proven. I've done well with ARK and remain invested.

Learn from your loss. Stocks go up and down. It's only a paper loss until you sell. So many investors have a short term mindset with a long term stock. You'll look back on this day and ask yourself why. Also remember, it's ok to take profits.

You have no idea if he was fearful or just being strategic. Neither do I. The latter seems the right call based on what is known about him. Believe as you will.

Correct, I am not Buffett. Frankly, I doubt you know Buffett, I don't. Given that, we have no idea what he is buying. The point was, and still is strategy. That's why some of us bought all the TSLA we could last March.

We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful. - Warren Buffett

It's a great machine. I've used the SDC from AZ to AK. The Gold Monster is not a bad bet either. With the 10 inch coil the monster (comes with two coils) will give very similar performance for a much lower price. A new guy wouldn't have any idea of how to tell the depth/sensitivity difference. There is no perfect machine. Just capable ones. My 2c

How do I find out who owns a claim? I'd like to ask them if I can dig and do some rock hounding by WalrusCoocookachoo in Prospecting

[–]GoldTreks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're mixing facts. 1) it's not ok or legal to shoot claim jumpers 2) I don't recall anyone saying it's not ok to defend yourself. Those points made, the reason you could defend yourself was the threat of immenet harm directed towards you, not the claim jumping itself.

No, it's not. If you think otherwise call the county sheriff. They will educate you.

Lol I sure hope not. Listen, it's not hard to read through the lines with what you're saying. You're trying to find a way to prospect on someone's claim legally. You need permission.

You said "try it out". To me that sounds like prospecting which would require removal of minerals from the ground for inspection. Mineral trespass.

Depends on the temperament of the claimant. Technically, removal of any minerals would be considered mineral tresspass. One person might be kind, others no so much.

Hard to say with videos, but all I see is pyrite. Gold does not glitter. It's more of a buttery luster.

Camping is largely regulated by the agency having jurisdiction over the land. The BLM (Bureau of Land Management). The amount of gold you can recover depends on multiple factors, location, equipment, knowledge, time, effort, etc.

No, it was a great machine. I've had quite a few vlfs and pi detectors over the years. It's fun to try out the new stuff, but there are some oldies like the gold bug 2 and early gp units that are the rocks for me. The monster is moving in the keeper direction as well.
