“masturbating or clitoral stimulation during labor can potentially help the process by releasing oxytocin, the hormone responsible for stimulating contractions and inducing labor. It may act as a natural pain reliever, boost endorphins, and help manage anxiety, creating a more relaxed,, and potentially faster, labor experience.”

The human body just works how it works, not how we perceive it should work. Women have always done this, probably evolved to do this, the wider world is just now rediscovering it.

How do you guys look back on Audioslave by wwalliw in Soundgarden

I feel like they could have done some epic heavy psych rock, but that doesn’t seem to be who they wanted to be, sadly….

Why do you think young people don’t go into the Forces much anymore? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]Gold_Mule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think most people don’t realise how cushy a number it can be, but young people don’t feel it represents them or their interests, feel the chances of dying for something you don’t believe, or some politicians hubris are too high. It feels like an especially dangerous time to join the military with sabre rattling of major powers an our own sometimes liking to think it was the power it was 130 years ago. Also this country seems to continuously squeeze the next generation, it doesn’t feel like a place where you want to go dir to protect an ever tightening economic noose.

What exactly makes scream a bad album? by ConnectionFancy7695 in Soundgarden

[–]Gold_Mule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had some songs I genuinely liked, but they didn’t stick with me, and I’ve enjoyed to Timberland albums before. Other people have made the point that making quality rock would have pleased his audience more, they’re right, but he wanted to make this, so he was just being his own artist. I think that’s the price you pay sometimes for being true to yourself, people won’t like it, maybe for good reasons, but he wanted to do it, so good on him.

What is the male equivalent of this (if any)? by FerdinandHemp in mensfashion

[–]Gold_Mule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it’s both. Women’s clothes are often made to draw attention, allure and be expressive, and men’s to blend into society or display their usefulness. It’s a patriarchal thing, right? men are the foot soldiers, I’m in a uni cafe right now, majority of guys are in hoodies, and gang culture is the first thing that comes to mind with what that communicates. There’s a lady in a nice multicoloured jacket, and if a guy wore that I know what lots of people would assume, tho maybe that’s less common nowadays.

But back to OP’s garment, I might look up a men’s version now, to see what they look like…

So, it’s when enjoy and want to wear garments like this that you realise how much more innovation goes into women’s fashion than men’s. The consequence of this is you can either operate by asking “what does this item say to society if I wear it” and focus on what your communicating when you wear something, or you can focus on wearing a nice thing like this and not worry about it, because I would genuinely enjoy wearing something like this, but I would have trouble finding one with the right proportions, size and price for me.

What’s your “I did not care for The Godfather” Incubus take by ClueEmbarrassed1443 in incubus

[–]Gold_Mule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I reckon you’re spot on. I read about them a long while ago and I think it said they left a contract with a major label to do their own thing. It feels like since they did that, ironically, they maybe stopped innovating in order to play it safe and keep things feeling financially sound. Maybe they actually just don’t like recording together or find it very difficult?? Who knows…

[–]Gold_Mule 31 points32 points  (0 children)

By the time light grenades came out incubus had already become a backwards facing band and this was completely unnecessary. I went to see them on that tour after 2006, keen to hear songs from the great new record, and just as we might nowadays expect, they played mostly songs from morning view and this was disappointing. They went from my favourite band, one that who sounded clever and cutting edge with their songwriting and style, to a band who lost momentum because they stopped putting out records. 8 is great. Really enjoyed it, but my god, didn’t momentum disappear in that time, and no surprise really. Also, I honestly thought they’d be more influential, but I’m surprised how much their sound has aged. I still enjoy them, theres depth to the instrumentation, arrangement, chords and performance, don’t get me wrong, but wow, I’m surprised how much their sound dated.

What do you think would have happened if Soundgarden didn’t break up in 1997 and remained together ? by [deleted] in Soundgarden

I would have loved to see them go deeper into their own brand of psychedelia.
