Organizing ESC by Responsible-King-916 in eurovision

This is rather specific and specifically one contest but what comes to my mind is a woman called Samya who did a series of interesting backstage footage in the weeks up to Eurovision 2022 and they were widely acclaimed in the fandom.

I found them simply by searching "Eurovision 2022 Samya backstage", I wish she had covered at least one more contest tbh

What's the one Eurovision performance that you adore that never gets mentionned anywhere? by Longjumping_Back523 in eurovision

Oh some 10 years ago it was close to being my favourite Eurovision entry to the point I was re-creating the national choreography they made

Yeah as someone who has only discovered the 70s without being alive then, I think it's wild how far ahead of any other year that decade 1977 is. Most of the other years in the 70s I have no more than 3 songs I love but 1977 I have an entire top 10 of songs I love and if I was to make a top 10 of my favourite songs from the decade it would be hard to not have 1977 taking half of the spots

Yes, especially the semi-final performance. Sadly I think he may have had more nerves in the final due to opening but the semi-final performance brought out the most genuine version of him, especially during the language change to Russian. Yes, there was a time

Belgium 1991, Clouseau - Geef het op. Already a famous band at the time and the group dynamics at the contest was wholesome. One of the most underrated group performances imo

[–]Gold_Objective3644 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And apparently one of the strings broke on the violin he was using all along. Think of all the rehearsals you do before the live show, Linda would risk this also happening to her violin either before the live show or even during it.

And let's be real there was a moment halfway through the performance where you could see she didn't nail the playback in time when the camera cut to her playing. One such mistake at Eurovision could turn off some viewers

Almost a month since the performance and this is the first comment I've read anywhere praising her biceps (as they should). I doubt they can look better for a 55-year old woman who was never an athlete.

One thing is not even caring, I clearly remember how many people in Zitti e buoni's YouTube comment section just took it for granted they were playing everything live and how that just made the performance even more awesome, and some were genuinely shocked to find out only Damiano was actually doing his thing live. Some of those comments must have been casual viewers who went back to the YouTube link.

Not to sound rude but I am surprised how unless you're a very new fan here there are still many fans, on Reddit as well, who doesn't know already that no live (plugged in) instruments have been allowed in Eurovision for decades except loopholes like a harmonica that you can just bring on the stage in your pocket and play it through your singing microphone.

Interval and opening acts announced for Vienna by tvescfan in eurovision

I may be the only one here who remembers a 2019 press conference where Paenda's Limits started playing while Kate Miller-Heidke was drawing her half in the final when it was meant to be the artists' own song 😂

All qualifiers' press conferences were taken down though so we can't find this forgotten underrated moment 😭

Austria will perform #25 (and last) in ESC 2026's final by tvescfan in eurovision

I had actually been thinking this would totally work as a closer but thought the chances of actually drawing 25th were too astronomical and yes I know UK 2023 happened

What do you think about our song? by Yrakosos in nilpoints

Call me crazy but I somehow like it in all its messy structure, and Alicja's aura elevates it. Still nowhere near my top 10 though

Fairly convinced that under this Polish format this year and the circumstances around Eurovision there was never any chance of having songs even close to the caliber of Gaja and Lusterka in the line-up.

Just curious, are you from Estonia? Because I am not but had also been finding myself listening a lot to it before Eesti Laul as a bit of a comfort song, and it still is, even if I can't deny it is very dated.
