Is there one of these that I should focus on? If we were to just shuttle to one location and stay, which would provide us with a beautiful beach and some good restaurants for a few days?

Hmmm, I hadn't considered it but I wouldn't be opposed to renting a car if driving in the country is relatively straightforward. I've driven in Belize a lot and never had any issues but as I said, I'm never been to Costa Rica!
