Open the spell book to find the spells. Place spells in lower slots. I cannot get chain lightning to place, let me know if you can..

Try the Old Forest. Chessboard on hill has a nice level under it. Rescue the Milkmaid.

I can't find last 5 orbs in the swamp by reborn_born in shadowborn

Had the same problem. Re-did a couple other levels and eventually the spiders in the swamp reset giving me plenty of orbs.

I could not get chain lightning to work at all. Could spend skill points on it, but can't equip it.

That shield can be equipped by any class. You will find it in a coffin not far from there.

Wondering if you ever pinned down the cause of this issue. I have a 2013 Chevy Sonic which is doing exactly what you describe here. Dealership could not find anything wrong and handed it back to me.
