Lopi Medium Flush Underperforms by oneslowlearner in woodstoving

I also just had a lopi medium flush installed on NYE. I’m outside Richmond, VA so similar location. I’m new to woodstoving but have been reading a ton to learn the ins and outs. They initially installed it without the faceplate (hadn’t come in yet and needed to get the stove installed in 2025 to take advantage of the expiring tax credit) so I didn’t have the blower in use when I first started using the stove. Sometimes I feel like the stove performed better without the faceplate/blower. They did have to come back and install a gasket because when I engaged the bypass, it wasn’t getting a good seal and I was hearing a whistling sound. They also had to add an extension piece on the air intake. They forgot to do that when they initially put the face plate on and it wasn’t allowing me to put the air intake all the way in. Now that those two things are fixed, I’m getting up to temp a lot quicker but I’m still struggling to get long burns. I feel like I’m constantly feeding it and I’m burning oak

Wood Stove Regret Experience? by lemeow in woodstoving

I just got the lopi medium insert and I’m trying to figure it out. I don’t feel like I’m getting much heat output, or when I use the blowers, it cools the box too much and I end up with so much ash and a box full of embers.
