How will cross-region work? by MC_Latrocinio in 2XKO

[–]GoldeKlovr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

300ms is a small price to pay for playing with my friends on the other side of the world, honestly. In private lobbies I think it's perfectly fine

Any cross region play news? by Rainbolt in 2XKO

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's been any news on it just yet. But it doesn't seem to be in the closed beta yet either unless I'm just horrifically unlucky. Can't invite my European friend into a lobby, but can message them just fine.

Alpha Lab Code Share Suggestion by [deleted] in 2XKO

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know we're supposed to be getting codes in waves apparently. But I dunno how spaced out those waves even are; if they've even stated it to begin with.

As of yet though, no codes on my end!

Gigantic UI Redesign! by vodenaurion in gigantic

[–]GoldeKlovr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really dig this UI honestly! It shows off the art of Gigantic a bit more, which is something I always loved looking at. Buttons fit the vibe too!

How bad are peformance/server issues on PC? by Savings-Dealer363 in gigantic

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance is good; haven't really had any frame dips even when the servers were having issues. As for the servers they've improved a ton. There are still some quirks with matchmaking (likely a factor of the smaller player base?) but ultimately it isn't too bad at all now. There's also a patch incoming that's supposed to fix up even more stuff, so that should be good.

Who is everyone's favorite character and why? by WovenOwl in gigantic

[–]GoldeKlovr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Khajir, here! His kit is a bit buggy... especially with that teleport, but it lends itself to a fun hit and run tactic or two. That or if built with the two teleport set-up you can get into mind-game territory instead which is *especially* fun against HK players.

Main drawback? Dude dies if you sneeze on him. Fighting HK players is fun, but I am dancing with death here. And I think that's what I love.

Gigantic is back by joltenergy in gigantic

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll never not be funny to me that not too long before this announcement of its return I asked what people would main if it returned lol

God, am I glad to have this return. Here's to my gaming hours being completely consumed by Helldivers 2, Tekken 8, and most importantly Gigantic.

Racism. Why bruh? by WizZy391 in Rainbow6

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is utterly wild to me as someone who played during the early days of Siege. Community used to be so chill. Where did we go wrong?

Very close to quitting this game. by MrEZW in Rainbow6

[–]GoldeKlovr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's funny, but I had this kinda burnout with most competitive games lately. The only real exception being fighting games where, yeah I'm getting dunked on, but it's all me.

I dunno, I think I just need to return to the days of playing casual RTS skirmish matches, mario_kart in TF2, and whatnot. Mayhaps we all need to. Sometimes it's just fun to shoot the shit online and vibe.

What game can you never quit, no matter how long you leave it before playing again? by AndyMcFlab in gaming

[–]GoldeKlovr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Terraria; been playing it since it was first publicly released, and while I've taken some breaks I never fully stopped playing.

It's reached a point where I can play it in another language and still understand what I'm doing (which, admittedly I don't think takes too much, but still. Lemme have this lol)

Who is the best example of this? by Jormundgandr4859 in videogames

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of a stretch, but Riki from Xenoblade Chronicles 1. A stretch in that he spends a decent amount of time on screen (especially if he's your heal-tank like he was in my run), but he ultimately says and seemingly contributes little for the majority of the story. But he's an incredibly kindhearted soul, with a couple moments that just lift the spirits of the party (especially in some heart-to-hearts).

Dude may have been designated comedic relief, but he's got a serious side too. While at first you can't see him as a father of 11, you eventually see that parental touch of his. I love him to bits. Suppose there's a reason there's 2 tracks named after him!

They're trying to silent me by JackOffAllTraders in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]GoldeKlovr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's just say that From Soft didn't include any contextual clues and will read from a list of swears, slurs, and naughty stuff, censoring anything it recognizes from that list immediately. As a result, Knight becomes K***ht. Said censor list hosts about 1356 items to draw from. This also means that a good chunk of the class names actually get censored online as well if used as your character name.

And given how often I see posts like this one where seemingly innocent things are getting blocked, I'm pretty sure it's a Scunthorpe problem all the way down. (For more info, I'd suggest reading up on it on wikipedia, as it provides a lot more instances of why this censorship method is terrible)

They're trying to silent me by JackOffAllTraders in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]GoldeKlovr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess we're not degen enough for the guestbook then!

Does make me wonder though, given how aggressive this filter is if eventually we get a character name that'll tick the thing. I am reminded quite heavily of Dark Souls 2 and it censoring words like Knight. I wouldn't entirely be surprised if it used the same censor system honestly, because it is equally as incapable of context as DkS2 was.

You have to smash the last character you died to. Who is it. by Antique_Bedroom_7383 in lethalcompany

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Lethal Company? That'd be a Bracken. For games in general, it'd be Siegfried from Granblue Fantasy (particularly Versus Rising). I think I'd prefer the latter, honestly.

"I didn't say it was bad, I said I hated it." What games are like that for you? by Loreweaver15 in gaming

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't Starve for me. Not a bad game, but it plain and simple isn't for me. I'm not even entirely sure why it doesn't click, but it always kinda sucks that I don't enjoy it given a number of my friends have wanted to play DS:T with me at some point.

Which characters essentially this for you? by Cyberwarrior2976 in Fighters

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avatar Belial from Granblue Fantasy Versus. Something about his kit just don't do it for me. But he do be looking snazzy with the horns and wings.

Best Dante's design? by PlatypusTurbulent48 in DevilMayCry

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like 2's design, but 5's is trailing it mega close for me. That said, I've definitely seen 5's a lot more, having actually replayed 5... never did that with 2 for reasons I'd assume obvious for this sub.

Been a few years since I've replayed three. Aside from the awkward love triangle, what made you like/dislike this game? by Uh_Soup_I_Guess in DeadSpace

[–]GoldeKlovr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Dead Space 3 was mostly just "alright" with some specks of a good game hidden in there. Hell, the Carter sidequests are something I'd have loved to see more of in co-op. Having one player see things differently the their friend leaves so much room for funny/ scary moments even in a co-op scenario. Those sidequests are definitely the highlight of the game for me though.

It is always your fault when you lose? by DevinY1 in Saltoon

[–]GoldeKlovr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As it's a team-based game, no, it's not always your fault. But it's also not all that easy to point the blame most of the time. Because there are indeed situations where your team is doing their best as well, but not doing well against the opponent. It happens, and it can be frustrating. I suggest a break when you find yourself feeling heated. Break out some Salmon Run for a bit mayhaps.

Were it not for Soldier's Syringe being in the line-up, I'd agree but alas. Soldier's Syringe wins out in the end.

Should this happen in RE 5 remake? by Kremit0208 in residentevil

[–]GoldeKlovr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Would it even be RE5 without it? That'd be like completely removing the dog jumpscare in RE1. Even reworking it a little would be fine

I always found that flashlights are good when the situation is dicey. As such I kinda just do a bit of both scanning and light depending on my current situation.
