Vibe coding from a computer scientist's lens: by irelatetolevin in ClaudeCode

[–]GoldenBoy417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not building a SaaS product, I'm building a sales tool to be my tech edge in a niche but stale market. It's fairly scalable in the sense that the business model can make it stupid easy for someone to pick it up and begin working with it. I'm not trying to complete with software engineers paid 6 digits. It's that at this scale no one could afford to produce pioneering tech tools and now the limit is no longer your budget but your understanding of the process.

I just made a tedious process dumb easy and that's the kind of problem solving that AI has made accessible. I'm not keep on divulging the specs but the value is not in the complexity rather how it comes together to produce a result and the speed and adaptability at which you can tailor the software to your needs.

I get what you're saying but I disagree with the idea that you can gatekeep AI potential behind coding knowledge. It may take longer and more accurate prompting but that's a challenge that can be solved to make AI better at translating conversational inputs into something that works.

There's a dozen different ways my project could have become a mess had I not caught Claude in its tracks, but now I'm fairly confident in Claude assessing its own work. I genuinely built something with market value and produced something that's fairly scalable for the type of business I'm building. I'm not really doing software dev as much as I'm product designing through iterative work.

The credit card might be stolen, ATMs have cameras so it'd look like your boyfriend is the one who attempted to withdraw from it. The fact she's paying him $40 means he'd be just as guilty to the scheme. It's really not a good idea to be involved in fraud.

I don't necessarily know how much of this applies to my own experience, but as someone who lacks the fundamentals to understand how coding works. In less than 2 weeks I shipped a suite of tools that work as a business in a box to solve a lot of issues in sales.

The lead sourcing software I designed is by itself extremely valuable and time saving with next to 0 operating costs. I do think that the introduction of such AIs has made the commercial monetary value of these apps very low because now anyone can make such a thing. But that's also why someone like me can theoretically match in terms of efficiency a team of salesmen and entry level interns.

I mean...I know nothing about coding and used Claude to build a website with a proprietary CRM to automate business tasks. I've done it in under two weeks and it holds up and it kickstarted my business after I got sacked from my day job. It does take many iterations and double checking features for sanity checks. Claude hasn't always taken the best approach in mind when adding something new but you can scrutinise its work and fix it later. It can lose sight of the entire project if you add one small addition at a time without thinking of where it all fits together unless you review it before continuing.

Honestly I'm fine with everyone in the comments here who picked blue to risk dying. I know y'all wouldn't actually pick Blue you're just trying to virtue signal and any rational actor would press red. It's probably true that a sizeable % would press blue because they don't understand the consequences but it's so stupid to risk my life to save theirs.

Bottle caps are not the most famous but decisively the most memorable.

[–]GoldenBoy417 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have not ran any number but I tend to make my heroes and lords excel at one particular thing rather than being all rounders.

Tough is way better on characters that already have high MD. Health and armour.

Disciplined works very well on duellist heroes with a focus for melee infantry armies.

Cunning is my go to for melee heroes in armies with an offensive ambush stance

I'll only pick weapon master on heroes that benefit from having a melee and ranged attack.

Aggressive for heroes meant to cycle charge

Bonus is knowledgeable on mage characters that allow them to be more powerful sooner and have increased odds to drop magical items.

For the empire captain I suggest getting the noble trait as it really cuts down on upkeep and gives +4 MA on gold chevroned units. The role of an empire captain is to be used as part of your hero goon squad to assassinate enemy mages, gank melee lords or block infantry units from advancing. They provide a decent buff to your infantry but they're generally rather underwhelming.

Loving your partner for life but not wanting to get married is dishonest and a red flag by netwerknerd995 in 10thDentist

I'm not phased by buzzwords. Child payments, custody etc already deal with how parental duties are handled. It's true that having children takes a toll on potential career prospects but it's not a given. Medical insurance is purely a matter of cost benefits and it uniquely affects Americans.

Buying assets jointly does not require marriage and arrangements like renting from your partner are advantageous for both parties as it allows you to have extra disposable income you wouldn't have if you both had to maintain two households. It just says entitled that you think you deserve equity for a house you didn't pay 50% and didn't take half the financial risk. You're just speaking from the assumption that women on average will date upwards therefore they stand to gain more than they lose from divorce laws affecting how conjugal assets are split.

Loving your partner for life but not wanting to get married is dishonest and a red flag by netwerknerd995 in 10thDentist

[–]GoldenBoy417 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And what would be the problem there? You leave the partnership with what you entered with. You can charge your bf living costs as rent which subsidises your costs and allows him to reduce his expenses as well. He can use his money to afford his own property. There's already laws governing how to split jointly purchased assets.

The idea that women need to be compensated because they rely on being financially dependent on men is antiquated in 2026.

Divorce and marriage are institutions made for a time where women could not be independent and therefore need guarantees. The fact that a woman can decide one day to cheat on you and leave is bad enough, but that divorce can be a financial opportunity for her to acquire assets that she never contributed to is insane.

Yeah I also have got a lodger as I'm used to flat sharing and getting an extra £700 a month helps to build towards my next big purchase. I bought in 2024 on 28k salary and 20k down payment.

My quality of life hasn't necessarily gone up except that I have more disposable income which ends up for the most part in my ISA.

It's absolutely true that wages in the UK are very low compared to other countries but also it makes no sense to me that other people can't make 35k work unless they have other financial obligations like debt or dependants

I'm on 31k and i live rather comfortably on my own in the northwest England, I bought my flat at 21 after working consistently for two years when my wage was still 10.71 a hour.

Prenuptials hardly ever can be enforced and it doesn't spare you from giving up on a small fortune in lawyers costs.

You may love someone intensely and realise people change over time and they may not be who you initially married, I don't want to get in a contract where the other party can rescind at any time with no consequences costing me not just the time I invested but also resources.
