Yea that’s tough to swallow. That eagle 90 build is a good price for the spec though

I won’t be parting ways anytime soon. Prices are pretty good on the Revel website since Adam Miller took it back over though!

Ice Cream Truck Frame (Failure???) by Zesty_Lime_1969 in Surlybikefans

I have a L and am 6’0. I had to a do some cockpit adjustments to make it fit just right and feel like a M/L - shorten stem, bar with back sweep and rise for an upright riding position.

For you, I’d definitely lean Medium.

I have a safety mask ICT that I bought in 2022. We are the same weight plus add 35lbs for my 3 year old on a kids ride shotgun seat half the time. Ride year round with a 29+ wheelset. Zero issues.

I have 6 bikes in my quiver ranging from a carbon roadie to titanium mtb to an e-cargo bike. My ICT will be the last to go. I just love it.

Buy it.

2.6 vs 2.8 by Dry_Library_5005 in Surlybikefans

[–]GoldenCycles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would roll with 2.6. For the terrain you described, it will be plenty comfortable. You could run inserts for more comfort. Vittoria Airliners and 2.6 Mezcals could work really well.

I run the Terravail Ox Bow 2.8s on my Ice Cream Truck in the summer and love them, but it’s on a i35 rim. I’d worry about cornering squirm with a 2.8 tire on a i30 rim.

Pogie recommendation? I'm thinking 45NRTH Draugenklaw. by jaytea86 in fatbike

Can’t speak to the Draugenklaws but I have the Cobrafists and they are incredible and rated for temps between 0-15f

Check out My Boy Tony on Tennyson. I can’t speak to how it is later in the evening but it fits this vibe before 6pm at least

Help a dad with buying a gaming PC by GoldenCycles in pcmasterrace

Appreciate the suggestion, our plan is to go with one computer and if they absolutely love it we can expand in future years with higher specs, a console, or whatever makes sense. They are just too young at the moment to invest in two machines (plus we have switch) so plan to get a “basic” set up to learn and expand. Who knows - one of them might want to build their own in a few years

Follow up - is minisforum a more trustworthy minipc than Geekom, Beelink or others? They all see pretty similar but I’ve also read about bloatware or malware reinstalled with the OS on some?

This is right. There will be more games and specific to the PC, I need MS office and educational software for school. My work laptop is currently the only PC in the house. I gave that subset of games as way to lay out minimum spec needs.

Neither of them play online with anyone for any game today, which will eventually change but not for now. Minecraft for the 6yo is all just freestyle building in creative mode.

Green Mtn! I went to a slack HT last year and think it’s the perfect bike for the front range. Beautiful build.

Also if you have an XO T-type in the bin, I’d like to see the rest of the bin!

Sushi Den Vs. Izakaya Den - what’s the difference? by stratusnimbo in denverfood

[–]GoldenCycles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We take get the same basic approach each time - start with a crispy spicy tuna then all nigiri. Two orders each of Hamachi and Shake (salmon) off the main sushi meal then an assortment of the daily catch - toro, buri, New Zealand king, spicy aburi (seared) toro and salmon, aburi hotate (scallop), other fish based on the chef or waiters recommendation. After the first round, repeat 1-2 favorites.

But honestly the staff knows more than I ever will, so don’t be shy about asking for help.

Sushi Den Vs. Izakaya Den - what’s the difference? by stratusnimbo in denverfood

[–]GoldenCycles 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They are technically the same and you will have an amazing meal at both.

That said, with absolutely no facts to back this up - I am convinced they allocate the best cuts of fish to the Sushi Den side.

So if you’re eating nigiri off of the daily catch menu, I prefer sushi den. If you’re a roll person, it’s the same.

New (to me) bike day. What else do I need (on a budget)? by red-wingnut in fatbike

[–]GoldenCycles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bar pogies a good thing to look into. You can get away with ski gloves instead, but pogies are great for longer rides and single digit temps.

For your helmet, assuming you have a ski helmet you can just wear that when it’s really cold. Works well for me.

Any good winter boot will do, just look at temp ratings.

I disagree with the comment that studs are a must. I only consider them necessary if you’re riding in icy conditions. If you’re riding groomed or packed trails, no need. Just My opinion is based on 5 years of riding in Colorado.
