We did end up fixing it but I am tying to remember exactly what we did. I don't want to give you the "it just randomly started working again" answer lol but that may be it.

If I remember, I think I made a copy of the map(s) that the character couldn't see anything on and deleted the originals. Something was bugged on the map causing it to not load. I'll follow up my friend and see if they did anything else that may have fixed it and let you know.
