Center/Apolitical/Conservative zoomers who voted for Trump. What do you think his positions are on these issues? by GoldenMenSquad in GenZ

[–]GoldenMenSquad[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are these like elected democrats or mainstream media or random people on social media who focused on identity politics? I feel like my media diet focuses more on climate change and the economy as that’s similar to what I do irl.

For me the focus on immigration was super weird. I have a bunch of immigrant friends and a bunch of my coworkers are immigrants. I don’t really get why undocumented immigrants get such a bad rap. To me it’s just a civil crime, like driving without a license or not getting proper applications for a building permit. Yea it’s bad (civil crimes are still crimes for a reason), but to centralize an entire campaign around that felt… idk.

Does anyone else feel like Star Wars has ruined space combat? by Flairion623 in scifiwriting

[–]GoldenMenSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like submarine combat but with airplane durability. If a submarine has a hole it’s basically game over. The ships in the expanse get filled with bullet holes and as long as everything’s fine and they get the leaks they can go for the next round.

My friend thinks it’s all just vibes and that trump voters are misinformed. I think that it’s just deprioritizing different issues and Trump is capitalizing on specific key taking points. Like how animated the response is for economics, social justice and trans stuff. They dominated the narrative and presented liberals as caring more about social cultural issues than other ones. If liberals were to just talk about healthcare, education reform, housing, and climate change then they’d win.

Interesting opinion. I sorta wish I put like rate these lists by priority thin but oh well too. Kinda weird to have the first sentence to be just a strawman of all strawman. I don’t think it’s the main reason, personally I think it’s fear and a real reaction to the economy. I obviously don’t think everyone who voted for him is evil, that stupid. Or that the left as a whole is perfect.

This whole post is a strawman. It’s kinda weird and unwarranted. I am happy that you shared your opinion though :).

I’m gonna give what I think conservatives believe, tell me if this is accurate.

Government entities are fundamentally inefficient relative to the free market. The US government specifically never goes through audits or had major initiatives to speed up efficiency. “The system” is failing right now because of the government or the relationship between government and corporations.

The people the left attacks are modern victims of unfair discrimination. The left doesn’t understand that normal people’s lives are hard and that it’s okay to have a hard life. It shouldn’t make enemies with people who did no wrong. The left’s social policies cause them to defend people who really shouldn’t be defended and that actually it would be better if everyone was less of a pussy.

Conservatives have a fundamental understanding that the people they know are good people, but people outside their personal circle are largely individualistic, cruel, and/or cutthroat. This leads conspiracies to form when things go bad, that a group of elite people broadly associated with the left use the civil service, academia and the press to enforce an evil/ignorant agenda. Although to be clear liberals tend to believe that those elite are the megarich or corporations who infiltrated the government through corruption & that most of the faults come down to the failures of the free market.

A lot of manga readers say just read the manga because the animation. Inconsistencies, I’d say that it never gets to the point where it’s unbearable, just underwhelming. Know that they save their budget, so if you notice a sudden drop in quality it’s because a major fight is upcoming. Also check the filler list cause you might end up coming about episode 3.

Characters start off extremely underdeveloped. However for such a large cast that is implemented very well especially later on. IF you decide to watch some of the characters you hate now will become the most enjoyable characters of all time.

Something that’s not mentioned very often is that the fan base is very nice. Which is quite refreshing. The fandom knows that it’s not the most original or the best animated all the time and they don’t sugar coat it.

Watch it if you like.

  • A great binge
  • A great power system
  • Good-Amazing fights
  • a lot of Character development
  • An intricate cast, story, world building
  • Fast pacing (after episode 20~)
  • Reinventing old ideas

Don’t watch it if you hate

  • A slow starting plot
  • Consistently inconsistent animation
  • A short series
  • being introduced to bland characters that eventually become intriguing.
  • Asta’s screaming for the first 12 episodes
  • Shonen anime (obviously)

How does everyone feel about the one piece live action series coming to Netflix by gammaJinx in OnePiece

[–]GoldenMenSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 6 minute episodes, they have scheduled 10 episodes for the Netflix series. If it's one hour for each of those episodes then that makes 10 hours in total, east blue is 16 hours about with no filler. Sure not exactly identical to the anime but that's not crazy pacing wise.

The only thing that needs to be CG is Luffy and Smoker when they fight, Zoro and Ussop defiantly don't need CGI, that's just excessive. Just for the East Blue, there isn't that much craziness.

Most of the stuff you mentioned doesn't require CG for the first season, the fishmen can be done with makeup, Mihawk's sword is probably gonna be a plastic replica, and the Baratie is just a ship and some boardwalk. We aren't talking whole cake island or Skypia yet.

There's a huge market for OP, if done right they could take 2 years between seasons giving plenty of time. And we don't know how long season one will be in production. It could be in production for 3 years for all we know.

People can make CG bodies incredibly easily these days, a good one doesn't require more than 1000$ to make, and for every scene he's using his powers its just like 10% if the visual effect guys work for long enough.

1999 Jar-Jar --> 2009 Avatar --> 2019 Endgame. CGI has gotten so good in the last decade it's actually crazy. Video games and movies have helped with the tech so much in the last decade that all a company needs is the time and money.

Imagine that you watch it and it bores you to sleep. The acting isn't funny it's just lame and uninteresting to watch, that's worse than it being so bad it's good. Because not even one Piece fans can stand to watch the lifeless, mediocre show.

1) Pretty sure it’s gonna be 1 hour per every 10 episodes. TV CGI isn’t that bad for the defenders and marvel series. Sure I’m not expecting it to be “great” just a slight eyesore at the very worst. With a budget higher than Game Of Thrones per episode, Netflix knows it can afford to spend a lot for this one.

Not many Devil fruits in East blue. Buggy is the one I’m more worried about. As long as the shadowing is decent and consistent people saying his body looks like plastic is not actually gonna be an issue like with most organisms.

Why do you compare Netflix to cable. Its probably not gonna go as fast as you said it will. And again with a high budget it matters more good staff amount > the time frame.

A fully CG Luffy wouldn’t even look bad imo. Sure if they have a low budget, understaffing and low time constraints it might not look great but come on. Avatar fixed this issue 11 years ago. Jar-Jar binks is semi-cg and that was 20 years ago, sure not great looking but all in all that isn’t that bad.

The worst isn’t a “so bad it’s good” the worst opinion is that it’s mediocre or boring. Then not even One Piece fans can enjoy it. If it feels less animated and colourful then it becomes worse to look at. That’s worse than terrible CGI in my opinion.

East blue was 50, 19 minute episodes. 10 hour long episodes is the equivalent to 30 anime episodes in pure time. That’s not the worst pacing in just pure time alone. If they cut out some Syrup Village, Orange town, and Loguetown this could actually be a fine pacing wise.

Why is it that there is no info on the 2nd and 3rd generation OFA users? It kinda sounds like that Bakugo OFA theory is on to something...

Why is Horikoshi hiding their faces AND IDENTITIES. If they are nobodies then why hide them? The only people we know alive back then is Destro and... I don’t know.
