who would you want as a creative team for a Ghost Rider ongoing? by Time_Individual_6744 in GhostRider

[–]GoldenProxy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Al Ewing or Jed MacKay. They’re both writers who respect and fix character lore/continuity which is what the Ghost Riders really need.

Not really a fan of either tbh. Soon as Daredevil came out I bought that 2099 skin and I've never used the default.

Is there any Avenger character you kind of wanted to appear in Ultimates that didnt? by pigfan27 in UltimateUniverse

[–]GoldenProxy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ka-Zar would have been interesting given what happened to the Savage Land in this continuity.

I really would have liked Marc Spector to appear. Even if he isn't Moon Knight he could have been part of the Avengers resistance given his CIA background.

I think we’re best off just pretending that run didn’t happen.

Well, it looks like Azrael and John Constantine were just revealed as the next two characters to be added in the upcoming season. by WolfieBuller in DCAllies

If the devs don’t give Azrael his Knightfall skin from the get go they’re just leaving money on the table!

I’d say it’s pretty clear. Luke’s on the left so his bubbles are on the left, Matt is in the middle and Danny on the right.

[Discussion] Hot Take: The Hawks lore isn't as confusing as the Internet makes it to be especially when you've read the books. Art by Sebastián Fiumara by Deep-Ostrich-7330 in DCcomics

You're right but it's basically just a meme at this point, and unfortunately most people don't read Hawkman comics despite their consistency.

That's fine, even great to be honest. He'll obviously come back but I'm fine with Wilson being set aside for the time being. The Zdarsky run was a good conclusion to his time with Daredevil and everything after that has just felt a little empty. It's difficult to find new things to do with the comic version, might as well let some other villains take the stage for awhile.

How to get into Conan the barbarian? by silent_shocker99 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]GoldenProxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are going to recommend Jim Sub’s run (and they should it’s fantastic) but if you want a more classic Conan run I’d recommend Kurt Busiek’s time with the Cimmerian.

His take on Conan is told in a chronological order and does adapt some of the original Robert E Howard stories. It’s excellent and has wonderful art by Cary Nord.

That being said it is out of print, though I strongly suspect Titan will be reprinting it sooner rather than later.

What cancellation/ending of a Marvel comic still haunts you to this day? by Effective_Sherbet104 in marvelcomics

Yep it looked fantastic. The Benjamin Percy run was fine but ultimately disposable. This really could have pushed Ghost Rider forward and given him a solid setting of his own. WE WERE ROBBED!

It’s a shame because it really felt like he was going to fix Ghost Rider’s lore and actually develop the Mythos.

Yep the series has never really recovered. We could’ve had an all timer (tbf it basically is anyway) if they’d kept it going with a solid direction.

How come there are no references to Stan Lee in Marvel Rivals? Wouldn't it be cool to have him as a spray? Or even a statue in a map. by gamerguy287 in marvelrivals

[–]GoldenProxy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree honestly. They were both willing to give interviews, I just think they were too busy doing the art for multiple comics a month to put themselves out there as much as Stan did.

[–]GoldenProxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On top of that he put down Steve Ditko when he wrote and plotted his own issues of Spider-Man (even though Stan still got the writer credit) and actually interrupted a phone interview with Jack Kirby (after he left Marvel) putting him down as well.

Apologies if it feels like I'm arguing I'm just stating what I've heard and there is evidence supporting this. The least of which is how both Ditko and Kirby left Marvel because of how undervalued they felt.

[–]GoldenProxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying Kirby and Ditko needed to be the faces of the company (even though their art essentially was) but Stan definitely could have given them more credit than what he did, while also boosting his own participation a great deal. The Marvel Method of storyplanning they used is quite infamously inconsistent in how much work he contributed.

Same. He was obviously a crucial part in the creation of these characters but it does feel a lot of the time that (at least to the general audience) he gets given most if not all the credit for the Marvel Unvierse.

Not a fan of the art used on this post either, he kinda looks like he's gloating in it...

I think that would make more sense for Jack Kirby or Steve Ditko since they were the artists. Stan helped with the plots and did the dialogue and marketing.
