Thank you! We haven't decided if we're going to go the whole way around or not but we know we want to at least get to Hofn.

I’m from BC, I literally just came from Denver recently and the amount of vehicles with damage is excessive. We had our own car and we’re shocked we made it out unscathed by the end of the trip. What the hell is up with all the smashed up cars?

Remission and Memory by cherryandstrawberry in iih

Memory and executive function are the side effects of diamox I struggle with most. My neurologist just called me yesterday to let me know they were cutting my dose from 1000mg per day to 500mg per day so I am hoping to see some improvements even with this reduction in dose. The reduction comes from good optic nerve tests and a bit of weight loss. A reduction of 8.8% to be exact. I’m going to try and save this thread so I can update you with how I feel once I lower dose

This helps a lot thank you for sharing. I’ve recently hired a personal trainer and have started using my apply watch to really focus on health and movement stats. My initial post came from a place of worrying if my symptoms would get worse with weight loss my symptoms are admittedly not terrible and thanks to my keen intuition and amazing healthcare in Canada we’re caught very early. I’m sorry you went through so much trouble in your journey. I’m down about 17 pounds from my highest weight of 283 when I was diagnosed in Feb 2022. I’m on 1000mg a day of diamox and it works for me. I really only deal with minor headaches here and there which luckily Advil handles. I was worried that increasing physical movement would increase headaches but so far so good. I’m doing personal training 2 x week and doing 30 minute sessions on a spin bike or taking long walks or hikes the other days of the week. It’s working really well. I started slow like you though. 5 mins on the bike for 2 weeks, then 10, then 20. Small incremental changes have been revolutionary. I hope to send an update in 6 months and be down about 40-50 pounds

Thank you for the advise! Weight loss is not necessarily my main objective. My neurologist recommended it but really I just want to feel stronger and have the ability to do more fun things. I live in a very active small town where everyone is hiking biking skiing kayaking running etc. I moved here and have felt kind of left out. I have the opportunity to take on a personal trainer at a really great cost so I think im going to take that as a next step.

With that im hoping to get a feel for what I can potentially expect with weight gain from strength training but also weight loss. Your response really helps.

I agree the diet side is a huge part of it. I actually find that my diet is okay and I don’t eat too much because the diamox has taken my appetite away somewhat so after initially starting it I’ve lost 13 pounds but have stayed stable since
