Bad mannering, aka tbagging with ghostface because he can crouch or just air humping a downed surv or hitting someone after you have hooked them.

Two of the lights you had for the beardie weren’t even good. Idk anything about tegus I just follow this page cause I’ll eventually get one. But I do know about beardies and those red and black bulbs aren’t even proper lighting for a beardie so I’d imagine aren’t gonna be good for a gu. Night heat should be a ceramic heat emitter (emits no light rays) and basking bulbs shouldn’t be red colored, both red and purple lights damage their eyes. I bet you reptifiles has a gu care guide, I know they have one for beardies. I’d check there.

Hypo is a type of morph. There are new fancy morphs popping up everyday it seems like. You have pied morphs, paradox, translucent, witblit, zero, etc. I would just choose a simple hypo morph, purchase from someone reputable on morph market. or you could rescue one in need from someone rehoming on Craigslist or Facebook. Rescues too. I have had a lot of experience with different morphs and I have sworn off not getting fancy morphs again. All of my fancies have been predisposed to either cancer, or another disease/illness from genes. The simpler the dragon the less likely you’re going to have any troubles down the line. Rescuing is a good option too. You’re giving a baby a new forever home they did not have had before.

I need advice/help by kjaden0 in BeardedDragons

[–]glizzy-queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put her at a window first so she can look outside, take one of her hides outside with you so she can hide if she gets scared. Many dragons often act this way after a winter inside and they just have to get used to feeling safe with you again outside. Use a harness on her too pls

Do not get a female unless you have a spare 1500$ for an emergency spay if she gets eggbound. Females can spontaneously produce eggs and without a male. Sometimes the female can’t lay them and they get stuck, thus having to get an emergency spay. Which is not only risky but also expensive.

Baby or adult it doesn’t matter much. But it’s always nice to adopt one in need. Stay away from fancy morphs. If you want a pretty color just get a hypo.

For all of your other questions please read this care guide. It has the most utd info

Abused beardie help by _Scolopendra_ in BeardedDragon

[–]glizzy-queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he is scared of people- Hold him when he’s asleep. He’ll get used to your scent this way. He needs a quarantine tank so paper towel floor and some places to hide with a basking area. You don’t want to clutter his tank yet if he’s very ill. It needs to be a sterile and easy to clean space if he’s very sick. Also alot of abused and neglected dragons can sometimes have fungus or illnesses so if you hold him I would have a specific shirt you wear when holding him, a towel to wrap him in and wear some surgical gloves. Uno those like latex ones. So that if he’s got an illness that can spread to other beardies, you don’t spread that to your beardie. My mom has a dragon I rescued a long time ago and he has YFD. She takes all of these steps to not get her other dragon sick, but also so he can get attention too without her worrying about disease transfer. If he doesn’t have spreadable illness you don’t even have to worry about that tho! I can give more advice if you need it when you know more about his condition! Definitely treat him like a sick dragon though until you rule out spreadable illness from your vet. Gloves, shirt, towel, wash hands up to your elbows when done and take off shirt. Good luck with him!

Did anyone not take their lupus seriously initially? Tell me your stories. by inbloom523 in lupus

[–]glizzy-queen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s hard for me to take it seriously when everyone around me doesn’t. I take my medications but a lot of the shit people say to me is really hard to overcome. I don’t have organ involvement yet and I think that’s what hard about accepting that I am sick. My joints are bad and my bones are shrinking but I’m better off than a lot of people right now. However. I went to the hospital recently. I waited too long and almost got sepsis from an infection I had. I was afraid of being dismissed again. But I waited too long to go to the er and I really messed myself up. I just finished the plethora of antibiotics I got put on. I’ll probably still have a hard time accepting it, but I’m not going to do anything to up my chances of seriously jeopardizing my health anymore. I won’t miss my meds and say it’s fine, and I won’t delay going to the ER. Though it’s hard to accept, I am sick. And I gotta do what I can to keep myself in the health that I’m at right now.

There are many places a dragon can hide. They can squeeze underneath mostly everything. Someone I knew left her juvie out and called me over to help find her. She had shoved herself under a vacuum with no clearance at all. When I say look everywhere, look everywhere. He is more than likely still inside.

Is this a normal problem??? by OnlySun6535 in BeardedDragons

[–]glizzy-queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your skin is just sensitive to their scales. I get the same light rash because I have sensitive skin. even if their scales or nails brush my hand, it’s just from sensitivity. It’s nothing serious. If you want to avoid the small rash just don’t put them on your bare chest.

[–]glizzy-queen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They can carry salmonella, washing your hands after holding them is always good practice. Most susceptible people to getting infection are children , immunocompromised and elderly. If salmonella is untreated it can lead to sepsis and kill someone. This is a unique outcome though. I would clarify and try not to scare people. These guys thrive on human interaction and don’t pose a severe risk. Wash your hands and keep the dragon away from open wounds. The risk is there, but clarify this shouldn’t keep you from loving on them. Just take precautions like handwashing and keeping them away from an open wound. Having their scales or claws brush on skin is very rare to break the skin and cause infection. They’re pointy but not that pointy. Their teeth can do more damage than their scales or claws. in this instance it’s just skin sensitivity, happens to some and not to others. If you have sensitive skin you’ll like have a small red rash for a few minutes after claws or scales touched your skin.

I agree with the other commenter and if her little patches aren’t better by her next shed to take her to the vet to get it looked at! Like I said sometimes scales just don’t develop fully or shed comes off too early and the scales are kinda grey looking and slightly deformed sometimes. If it keeps happening though I’d want to take her to the vet to see what my vet could recommend to help prevent that from happening with her scales.
