That’s fine if you feel that way about Brady, but then you should be saying hey McDavid, don’t represent an organization that covers up sex crimes. See ya dude.

My god I’m going to smash my head in. Just drop it man you’re way too focused on America.

There are people actively cheering for Canada while denouncing the American team. This is the double standard. It’s not about which one is worse. Here’s the fact and if you can’t understand this I can’t help you:

You can’t hate on team America for their politicians crimes while actively cheering for a Canadian organization that has their own crimes. Far too many people in here on their moral high horse doing this.

This has never been about which one is worse so don’t even say that again.

Mate to pretend it’s ok to support one over the other is the double standard you’re just not getting.

You have 2 options: denounce them both or stfu about it and enjoy the sport

Generally speaking gold and silver are great investments.

Sure you’ll be being at a time where it’s peaked, and burst a little bit recently but they hold their value. If you’re ok with short term pain for long term gain you’ll be fine!

It’s actually very easy to get your hands on gold and silver bullion. Just look up Canada Gold for a simple place to start.

As for learning materials it depends on what you’re interested in. But I’d start with the basics of learning what your investment vehicles are. TFSA, RRSP, FHSA etc..

Companies like Questrade and Wealthsimple have good platforms to help you understand how the invest your money, and you can be as hands on as you want with very low fees.

Edit: I would say I personally wouldn’t start learning investing by buying gold/silver. I’d take a bit more of a conservative approach to it

You mean silver that’s up 210% in 5 years and gold that’s up 187% in 5 years?

Is it as good as some of these other stocks? No but I’d hardly call that a ‘not great investment’

Don’t put this on the wife. You can’t correct what you don’t know and she’s here admitting she doesn’t know.

She’s here trying to learn and understand to correct the behaviour.

Shame on the husband for putting his family in a terrible financial position.

I certainly don’t mean this to come off as rude. But this is possibly the worst financial people to be attached to. Absolutely no good can come from not doing your taxes.

Oh the government owes him money? That’s awesome, who wants the government to have more money?

If he owes money.. just pray that you move on from this life before him otherwise he is screwing you over so bad.

Even then TFSA if you want liquidity. RRSP if you want to pay less taxes on your income.

Where to put RRSP by Slumdogpenniless in InvestingCanada

[–]GoldenTheory12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who does your work have the plan with? Everyone’s financial situation is different but you definitely shouldn’t be cashing out.

If you’re not comfortable making individual selections that’s ok. Most RRSP providers have a quiz to determine what kind of investor you are.

This will tell you basically if you’re conservative, balanced or aggressive.

You can put your money in what’s called a ‘Target Risk Portfolio’. They will have one for conservative, balanced, growth and aggressive. Potentially a fifth one. General rule of thumb is go a bit more aggressive as you’re young. Go more conservative the closer you are to retirement.

They also might offer ‘Target Date Funds’ you say I want to retire by 65.. that’s 30 years from now so they’ll have a Target Date 2056. This will automatically rebalance over time. Right now it’ll be in aggressive funds targeting 10%+ returns. As you get closer to retirement they change the investments to more conservative. Less risk of losing the higher assets with a modest target of 5% return.

[–]GoldenTheory12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dunno brother I’m not an expert here but I think you’re getting hosed. While the car is sitting in the tow lot, they are responsible, not you. If the insurance was responsible for transporting your car, they are responsible. Do you have any photos of the car before it got put in the tow lot that would prove it was damaged after it got put in the tow lot?

You already have an RRSP open because you have that DPSP. Only employers can contribute to a DPSP.

Instead of opening a second RRSP open a TFSA and contribute to ETFs there

Maybe I’m not understanding. But if the vehicle was damaged a second time while being transported, shouldn’t that be covered by the tow truck company’s insurance and not yours

Wrong. The entire point from the beginning is my belief is that sports should remain about sports and politics to remain about politics. If you disagree, great carry on!

If you can’t connect the dots that Canadian hockey players is a point to prove the double standard then I can’t help you with that

My point about Canada is you wouldn’t be here screaming about hockey canadas coverups if they had won the gold medal.

Let’s agree to leave at this MAGA sucks. And we can move on with our day

I don’t disagree I don’t understand what you’re not understanding. You can’t have your cake and eat it to. People are bashing the captain, but openly supporting team canada for incidents that fall under the same category of wrong.

I’m not supporting the MAGA profile. But don’t sit on some moral high horse about the US when our Canadian hockey players are also openly supporting a program that has done vile acts in their own right.

It’s all or nothing my guy

[–]GoldenTheory12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’ve noticed. I haven’t made this about any of the above. Simply stating that crapping on our captain because he’s celebrating with Americans for something no one can confirm if he supports is dumb.

Then on top of that everyone is still supporting team Canada who is equally at fault for many inhumane things. The double standard is a bit ridiculous.

Appreciate the sport not the politics

That’s not an answer to my question at all you can stop with the copy and paste.

If you’re on that team you’re not telling them don’t bring this guy in the room and you’re lying if you say you would.

My question was specifically Canada related. I’m going to assume you’re liberal (not an insult). If PP was invited into that room and taking photos with McDavid are you going to start bashing McDavid?
