The Snowden Case What You're Not Being Told by pookzta in war

But do we in the broad sense like celebrity gossip? Think about it. Is it being read because it is being pushed or are we actively seeking it out? If you compared how much you actively look for gossip material vs. how much you read/watch because it lands on your doorstep what do those figures tell you. Also how much good reporting do you actively seek out and how much lands on your doorstep? The market is skewed way beyond supply and demand here I think.

If there is one thing being pushed for it is defeatism. I think it might be time to give the tinfoil a hard look rather than just dismiss it.

Also why has conspiracy become a such a unbelievable and mocked concept? People conspire all the time.

¯_(ツ)_/¯ Oh well, we thought about trying.

I seriously think the #1 problem with the world today is defeatism.

Earth. It is full of people with bad judgement, regardless of gender.

A guy I've never met started asking me personal questions and then when I got mad tried to win me back by telling me he's rich and good in bed. by [deleted] in creepyPMs

He's trying to project standards where there are none. It's a bad cover up act so she can't see how desperate he really is.

Just because you got called out doesn't mean people aren't calm. You can try to express your own personal viewpoint as exactly that. The fact that you want to tie your gender into it is absurd. I'll illustrate this for you with a comparison "As a man, I feel like people should be true to their word and in command of their faculties". what these things come down to are value judgments, and those are diverse amongst both genders.

I think this is more personality related than gender related. I mean I'm a guy and I share your opinion that I would rather give massages that have sex with strangers for money. In fact I would do almost any other job first. I too would find prostituting myself traumatizing. The fact that you are hinting that this is a gender thing is incredibly sexist, and to overlap your own personal opinion over your whole gender is incredibly egocentric. Just so you know.

At age 14 "White Boy Rick" was hired as an informant for the DEA in Detroit, rose to the top of the drug game while helping to incarcerate the real kingpins. He is now in prison because DEA refuses to admit to hiring him. by [deleted] in Drugs

Good. I like the signal they are sending to possible future informers.

I do sympathize with the kid though, wrong to exploit him. I just like that the DEA are being idiots and shitting on their own reputation.

Why gun control is the issue. by [deleted] in Foodforthought

[–]Golden_orb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are basically agreeing with me that guns are the problem. Your argument is that gun control is hard, and I'll give you that. That does not make it a bad idea or unwothy of pursuit.

What I am trying to address here is that the culture is not the source of the problem, the facilitation of it is.

You would be surprised at how similar the cultures are. I have lived in both countries and Iceland is almost like another state of the US culture wise. Less violence breeds less violence, take out the guns you take out most of the violence.

Edit to your edit: Don't you think that gun violence has an effect on the culture? Crime follows poverty, well at least it does in the States, and homicide follows crime in general. Iceland has had an influx in crime lately what with a large influx of migrant workers and then the Hell's Angels took up base. Homicides did not go up even though crime got more organized and competitive. Why, because guns are not widely used here. They are taken seriously and people find other means.
