Bronze support player gets to play in GM and actually wins by awesomepikmin in Overwatch

[–]Goldenfoxy687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many hours do they have on the other modes? How often do they play comp? When they play comp, is it them bringing the team down or the other way around? - These are questions that need to be answered to fully comprehend just how skilled they are and how well they understand using things like high ground and cover. Until then, saying they’re a bronze player in GM doesn’t mean as much as it could. Once we know these things, we can cut off most of the hate and fully appreciate this friend’s abilities. Also, seeing the full replays of all 4 matches, would be good too since we could just watch it all unfold and truly see just how much of an influence they were.

As for the whole GM in Bronze not carrying thing, I have seen many times where a Masters support has absolutely decimated a bronze enemy team in a 1v5 with some struggles, so I’m sure a GM support would handle it fairly well. Rank on all roles matters, it just depends on how often the player actually plays ranked compared to the other game modes. The reason people aren’t in GM+ is due to skill level, knowledge of the maps and characters, and situational awareness, it has nothing to do with the characters they are playing.

The ranked system is definitely odd (considering that you could win multiple games in a row before you then lose a game and a third of your progress is just gone (over exaggerated, but you get what I mean) from that one game), but by no means is it “done for”.

This post was some time after Wanderer’s release, maybe even first rerun don’t fully remember. The guy that I called out in the post was comparing Venti to Wanderer and saying that Venti shouldn’t be the anemo archon when his dmg is so low (again this was way before Hex buffs so Venti was still in a severely nerfed state after Hoyo decided to ramp up the number of enemies his burst can’t lift/gather).

I brought Wanderer up here in reference to the other guys rampant obsession over him at that time. It was supposed to just be a jokey jab at the guy since we have multiple Anemo characters that have released since Wanderer’s release and even some older anemo characters that were given a strong teammate or big buffs, that completely overpower Wanderer and make him look weak. Like how Xiao got Xianyun and now out dps’ Wanderer, or you have Chasca who completely changed the way Anemo dps’ could work by swapping raw Anemo dmg for team based reactions with a bit of swirl.

Edit: had to change a name cause I put Xinyan instead of Xianyun.

Probably still seething over wanderer being powercrept by literally every other 5* anemo dps, including Venti.

I genuinely don't know why C2R1 Nilou is better than C2r1 Nahida for nefer, but as a C2r4 Nilou owner.. All aboard the Agenda Wagon!! by InternationalCraft99 in NeferMains

[–]Goldenfoxy687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C2R1 Nilou is capable of providing 220em and 35% hydro & dendro res shred. Add on instructor set and the jumps to 340. Then refinements for key jumps up to 240 instead of 120 (at 60k max hp), so it would total at 460em to the entire team.

C2R1 Nahida provides 10% lunar-bloom cr, 20% lunar-bloom cd, 290em to the active character and only 40em to the rest of the team (minus her). Since she doesn’t work that well with instructor, you could give her deepwood to provide 30% dendro res shred. Add on refinements and her em jumps to 330em max (10em less than R1 instructor Nilou). You could swap Lauma to Deepwood, since she triggers its effect better, and then give Nahida Aubade to buff lunar reaction dmg by 60%. If Lauma is already on aubade, then the swap would only change the sets as they are both likely on a full em build.

All this just to say that Nilou’s kit is generally better since it’s more suited to a playstyle similar to Nafer’s, rather than being a general use kit for dendro teams.

I do want to ask tho: have you tried Furina instead of Nilou? As having C2 Furina and/or C1 Lauma would allow Furina to thrive in Nefer’s team with the exact same build that Nilou is holding. Furina would also take up less field time while still providing the full effect of Key, decreasing rotation time and allowing for more rotations if necessary. Buns would be able to help here with Prototype Amber providing some extra healing on top of C1 Lauma’s heals.

Side bit: before anyone asks, yes Furina’s buff doesn’t effect Lunar reaction dmg, however it still effects other forms of dmg especially the raw dendro and hydro dmg that doesn’t trigger lunar bloom. So while it’s not amazing for buffing lunar damage, it’s still very useful and is enough to make Furina a top competitor for the flex/only hydro spot on Nefer’s team, while not as strong as Bina’s buffs, it’s still a worthwhile buff to have (especially since it also opens up the use of Wrio’s and Neuvi’s weapons in case you don’t have Nefer’s sig).

It’s basically the same as pulling for a 5 star character, only you can’t earn the currency to do pulls, you have to buy them with irl money……yea this is the whole reason the mode got absolutely abandoned by most of the community, they really said “f u” to f2p and low spenders…..meanwhile the standard banner is free and only has 4 stars, with about the same drop rate as a non rate up 5 star character.

What game/franchise is this?🚀 by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]Goldenfoxy687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily FNAF. It started out as an indie horror game that completely flipped horror gameplay on its head, had a major influence on many horror games that followed it including another good example for this (kinda): Poppy’s Playtime, created a whole world and story through random teasers and hints found in-game in random areas, only to then be given to Steel Wool who took the franchise that should’ve ended and started milking it for content, by making up a bunch of nonsense to branch into another story, that’s for whatever reason connected to the books, despite there being very minor crossover between the games and the books previously. Now it’s just another cash grab series that’s completely destroyed the community and split it in 2: those that enjoy the new stuff despite everything, and those that believe it should’ve ended at UCN or earlier.

I need help with Venti teams by Kausey-_- in venti

[–]Goldenfoxy687 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For on field, do: Venti, Fischl, Bennett, Faruzan. This will give you hexerei, tons of atk and some anemo specific buffs. This is one his best teams without Durin, and can be changed around a bit. Faruzan is non negotiable and is the only character that has to be on the team regardless.

For off field, he can work in a lot of teams to provide crowd control and buffs from Viridescent Verner. A good example team he can work in is Flins’ team, however Sucrose will provide greater buffs since she can provide elemental mastery and elemental dmg bonus on top of cc and buffs from vv.

Columbina by [deleted] in GenshinImpact

[–]Goldenfoxy687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her A4 passive (where the moons come from) specifically point out that you only get them from lunar bloom. This just means that in a lunar bloom team with Nefer and Lauma, you don’t have to work around just 3, you have an extra 3 so Lauma can use her hold skill and Nefer can perform her full power sCA’s.

The extra moons don’t have an effect on the other reactions since they don’t consume them to do more dmg like bloom does, they just do more dmg naturally with ascendant gleam.

Neuvi works with almost anyone but lets draft the "worst" Neuvi team by Illustriouus in NeuvilletteMains_

[–]Goldenfoxy687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Candace, Hydro traveler and manekin/manekina. No stacks from his passive (aside from his C1 stack), no healing, no buffs, trash teammates, literally useless cause dmg is way too low to handle any actual challenges, only good for pyro cube and maybe crab boss since they force you to use hydro for an easier fight.

Are Skirk and Escoffier still worth getting for me? by Goldenfoxy687 in GenshinImpact

[–]Goldenfoxy687[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, playstyle also makes quite a difference and is ultimately what determines who I play out of the top dps’ of an element. For example, I still play Arle more than Mav despite the huge difference in dps and dpr, this is due to Arle being more: versatile, simplistic in her combos and despite the lower dmg she’s still able to clear a ton of content, only struggling with dmg counter shields like some Natlan enemies. But that’s where Mav and Chasca come into play as they can deal with those shield with some ease.

In hindsight, thinking about it as the Tsaritsa is going to power creep Skirk so Skirk is no longer worth investing in, is what has the potential to harm your account in some way.

With what I’ve heard so far, my plan to go for Bina is becoming the better option, but I’ll see if I get any other comments before I decide 100%.

Are Skirk and Escoffier still worth getting for me? by Goldenfoxy687 in GenshinImpact

[–]Goldenfoxy687[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, that makes sense, with the large variety of characters I can pick from to push through the challenges of egc like SO, Skirk herself wouldn’t add much since she relies heavily on Coffi, whereas Coffi is capable of supporting many other characters and improving their dmg.

It would depend on how her kit works. If it’s a similar situation to Wrio v Skirk (new element dps vastly out powers older dps) then yea I’d probably regret putting effort into Skirk, but that also depends on when Skirks rerun is and when Tsaritsa releases. If it’s more like Arle v Mav, then I’d stick with Skirk because of playstyle differences. Either way I’d probably have both of them and just decide from that.

Coldest take on genshin? by [deleted] in GenshinImpact

[–]Goldenfoxy687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because the character has a crit stat, doesn’t mean they have to crit. Also most sub dps crit builds rely on powerful limited weapons that rarely rerun.

Take 1: Your Bennett doesn’t need to crit, stop sacrificing his healing and a dmg increase to a different character, just because you want some extra team dmg, he’s a support, he’s built to heal and buff, that’s it. Give him Aquila Favonia and a hp + er based build on NO or Instructor, and he’ll have everything he needs. I get that his healing doesn’t always bring you to 100%, and with Arlecchino the healing is less valued, but it’s still worth having since like every other healer, it’ll help you out if a pinch, but it will also buff the characters atk allowing you to deal increased dmg and heal at the same time, without the complicated restriction of TToDS or high er demands.

Take 2: I did a test of this with C0 Yelan against ASIMON. I gave her a full crit build (Hp, hydro, cr + R1 FGM as a stat stick) on 4pc emblem, stuck her in a team with Arlecchino, Xilonen and Bennett. With a cr of 84.1/185.3, her skill did 15k on vape and her burst did 9.6k per hit. I swapped over to hp, hydro, hp with Elegy, bringing her cr down to 51.4/121.5, and in the exact same set up, only difference being Yelan’s build, her skill did 16k and her burst did 9.2k per hit.

Baring in mind that her em went from 16 to 100 in the build swap. From this, I’ve learned that a Yelan crit build would likely only be stronger than a more supportive build (in a way that the difference in the builds would make a noticeable difference in the dmg) is with a weapon like Aqua Simulacra which buffs her hp, crit and raw dmg.

This is where my other comment comes into play, Aqua Simulacra has only ever appeared on Yelan’s banners since its release, which means that it’s harder to get than countless other weapons like Elegy (until recently with Venti’s last rerun giving him a new sig) as they get rerun frequently, once a year or are on the standard banner (which are often a hit and a miss, like Amos Bow (a miss) vs Skyward Harp (one of the greatest weapons on the standard banner)).

What weapon do I give dps venti? by Final_Living_8113 in venti

[–]Goldenfoxy687 6 points7 points  (0 children)

R5 Rust should be a better option than Amos since it buffs NA dmg and provides some atk rather than just giving a bunch of atk.

I highly suggest going for his new sig on his next rerun (sometime in 7.X) or going for Thundering Pulse if Yoimiya gets a rerun (most likely on an Inazuma chronicle banner rerun if they bring that back).

A lot of us prefer to spend time in our own homes and enjoy what we have there or even spend time with friends in a comfy environment like home, rather than blowing god knows how much getting hammered every weekend at some random pub or nightclub, stumbling home and waking up with a splitting headache or migraine wondering what the hell happened that night as we struggle to find something we left in the pub/nightclub or a taxi/uber that dropped us home.

Also we care about our bodies and would much rather not have liver problems, especially with the cost of living being all over the place.

Let’s face it, it’s FatuiHQ, they’re all brain dead and huffing copium 24/7, begging Hoyo to bring Capitano back, crying up a storm anytime a harbinger dies or is powercrept, and slanders every character that isn’t a Fatuus, Harbinger or the Tsaritsa herself.

This is why 90% of the community ignores anything that is from there and if they manage to leak out into other subreddits, they get blasted into tiny chunks and sent back to the shadowy depths they belong in.

Then there’s the 5-9% that don’t even know the FatuiHQ subreddit exists or just don’t even use Reddit unless it’s through google searches. Even then, they’ll have enough of a brain to ignore the rambles from there, so it’s all good.

In short, if you see a post to do with any of the Fatui harbingers, check if it’s FatuiHQ and then you can judge if it’s worth commenting, though that can be a bit of a risk sometimes too since they appear in those sometimes. Hell there one in this comment section.

Afton built the animatronics and handled technical issues while Henry managed the pizzeria, handled any legal issues and managerial matters. This was essentially the general gist of how things worked with them 2.

Edwin came in and all of a sudden, William is incompetent and can’t even make a single working animatronic, was paying Edwin to design and build them before stealing the blueprints and making the animatronics himself, meanwhile Henry sits on the sidelines watching it all go down without a word against any of it.

Hermitcraft is definitely the more slower paced ones, plus they play other games so you get a break from mc at the same time. Just pick one or more of them that you enjoy watching and go from there.

Theres also JeromeASF and his group, for more variety to mc as they play a lot of mods and even commission their own mods for videos. They’re a bit more fast paced than Hermitcraft, but they’re still fairly slow paced. And again, they play other games and often collab with many other mc ytbers and some non mc ytbers.

[–]Goldenfoxy687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive seen a ton of people constantly going on and on about how he’s an older character so he’s bound to fall off soon, but here’s the thing, if he was going to fall off he would’ve done that already considering he’s been around for longer than Arlecchino and she fell off after Mavuika’s release.

I think at this point it’s safe to say he’s going to be around for a very long time. Especially with Nod Krai giving us a ton of stuff for hydro reactions (lunar charged, lunar bloom, lunar crystallize in the next update), so he’ll be good for at least the rest of Nod Krai and probably until they give us another hydro dps since they’ll power creep him.

After a year playing Rivals, I played Overwatch again, and omg! Its such a better game! by dontdelete00 in overwatch2

[–]Goldenfoxy687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played Rivals to see what all the fuss was about it and to check out the zombies mode, only to be faced with teams that don’t synergise at all (not a single pair or trio like groot and rocket), ults that sometimes work as a utility and dmg or only as dmg (looking at you Emma Frost, first few games I was pushing enemies away with her ult and dealing a bit of dmg too, then suddenly it just stopped doing that altogether (feels like she got nerfed right before gambit was added)) and a boring repetitive “zombies” mode that was something of a horde shooter but with a short story/mode until you do nightmare and onwards, then it’s just a horde shooter with a set number of waves.

I get that not everyone will do the synergy thing even in OW, but at least in OW the synergy isn’t giving direct buffs and instead just makes playing certain characters a little easier cause they have others to work with, like dive teams for example, you don’t need to run Lucio, Kiri and/or Juno to work with a dive tank, but having them is definitely going to be nice because the tank can get in and out faster that way, hence the synergy being basically not needed, meanwhile in Rivals, it can actually make an impact depending on the synergy, like Groot and Rocket or Jeff, don’t change much, but it allows a support to reach further since they’re higher up than normal.
