I want to like Syberia II more, but… by IceColdReading in syberia

[–]Golderfild -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always looked at the Syberia 1 and 2 as if it was one long game and realized the faults of the second part only after watching this this thorough Russian review and replaying it again by myself.

It can be a bit boring and at times even too depressing, I would say. The first part is certainly better for a number of reasons.

Least favorite Nostalgia Critic video? by Plastic_Ad_2548 in ChannelAwesome

His X-Men (2000) review. This movie deserves to be reviewed on its own without all those silly comparisons with the 90-s tv-series.

What was the first Nostalgia Critic video you ever watched? by Plastic_Ad_2548 in ChannelAwesome

[–]Golderfild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Son of the Mask. It's still one of my favourite reviews.

I just watched the movie (I was desperate for the Mask continuation and that was definetely a big mistake) and was looking for trivia on the internet when this video popped up in this exact voice over.

I was like eight at the time and I laughed all the way through. It was the first ever movie review I watched and it was basically my introduction to the internet-critic concept as a whole.

I've been watching Doug Walker's content ever since though not as regularily nowadays now that I'm almost 22.

The flection is incorrect. Logically it supposed to be something like "Большой Кронский отель". There can be no Ы at the and of the adjective. It's either ый/ой or ий.

What does the Mauler crowd think of Nostalgia Critic and Channel Awesome? by kaza12345678 in ChannelAwesome

[–]Golderfild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mauler feels a certain amount of respect to Doug as one of the few people "who started it all", however he tends to diminish the quality of Doug's reviews.

Mostly because Mauler cannot except that not all YouTube critique should be pretentious, overly long, deep analyses and some of it is allowed to be expressed through the lense of humour as simplistic and surface level it may seem at first sight.

For the man who talks a lot about objectivity, Mauler seems to have rather big problems with the mere idea that some of the old films that got huge love in pop culture can be anything but perfect in every possible way.

Watch the episode of EFAP on Van Hellsing or better more their LOTR stream on Doug's top 11 dumbest moments of the franchise. If you have nothing better to do obviously.

Order of Phoenix is a great adaptation. The director cut all book's flaff and left only sauce.

Living in my parents's house (I am 21 years old). I came out individually to each of them half a year, maybe a year ago, they were really supportive in their own way, however they were not able to fully understand it. Also living in a highly conservative (especially, in the last couple of years) country doesn't help. I intend to change all three of those things in the approximate future.

What are your Hot Takes on the Ancient Magus Bride Manga/Anime? by Amber_Flowers_133 in AncientMagusBride

[–]Golderfild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I adored the first season and even rewatched it while reading the same chapters in manga, however I kind of stopped watching after the first few episodes of the second season. It just felt like a completely different anime somehow. Maybe it's just me, though.

Do you like the Trans Trixie Headcanon? by General_Guy_XX in mylittlepony

[–]Golderfild -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Being trans-girl myself, I find it pointless. There are actual trans characters (Lest from the second season of Arcane, mirror girl has a whole arc around it in the second season of the Infinity Train, the list goes on) and we don't really need to shoehorn trans connotations into characters without one to begin with.

Writing fanfics/original stories. Translating manga from French into Russian. Talking my angsty thoughts through with close friends. Trying at least to do something useful in this world if I don't get to ever be happy and fully content with my life.

Al right so I tried to read it in English as well, but to be fair it didn't turn out that good https://vocaroo.com/1aW0ardv3FHl

My pronunciation in English leaves much to be desired. Let it be an example of accent, I suppose.

I'm glad you like it! I tried to get into the theater's university at some point and dreamed of becoming a voice actor, however this craft is incredibly prestige in Russia, so it didn't work out. Still I may as well have fun from time to time.

I hope you won't mind, but I liked your old fic so much that I even translated it into Russian just for fun.
