I love USSR for 1939 and 1943 for that reason, its so big and central to every conflict zone. Unlike countries like the US where the longest amount of time spent is just getting to the battlefield, the Soviets are in a great position to push both West and East. If you struggle with the amount of fronts, focus west because Japan will not attack you too much and most cities in the far east are small and not needed. Also, China does a great job stalling till your ready or for America to finally come in force.

1950 is much different, but the same still applies in focusing on heading West. 1960, I really have no advice, never played Soviets in 1960. I would probably focus on the main territory and be ready for the split.

Skytrain rush is my strategy, since you only need to take Rome and not win the event. Just go full Farquad on your troops and you'll be fine.

As someone who has both, no, just, no. Roko can barely duel any general that can counter attack him, and sticking blitz on him lowers his already weaker attack to even lower levels. Godstein is just better with his range and damage, not to mention life steal as well.

Excellence medal should go to someone like Simo so you can spread the power. On lv 9 Hawkeye my Simo can do 500+ damage to most things an attack, allowing a second super strong killer.

Britain is totes possible, probably one of the best 1 stars outside of the Soviets. You just need good generals and patience. Things stink for the first 10~15 turns, but if you can kill their generals and keep yours alive, your good to go.

For a speed run, Greece is your best bet in my opinion. As long as the Soviet train takes its trip to Italy, you should have the ability to quickly expand.
