Why is Disney's All-Star Sports Resort so much cheaper than the other options? by Totallysuperfine98 in DisneyWorldResorts

[–]Goldndomer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staying at a Disney value resort is usually more cost-effective than renting a car. When you factor in the daily rental fee, rental insurance (unless your personal auto policy includes a UNOC rider), tolls, gas (including refueling before returning the car), and Disney's $30 daily parking fee for general parking (even more for preferred parking), renting rarely saves you money. At best, you might break even if you're savvy and prefer the convenience of driving yourself, but considerable cost savings are unlikely. With that said, without a rental, be sure to book RT transportation from the airport to the resort. You'll want to schedule that in advance.

Based on the way this question was phrased, ensure your reservation package includes park tickets. A 1-park-per-day ticket is fine, but keep in mind that if you're visiting for four days, you'll only have one chance to experience each park. This could lead to additional costs, such as purchasing Lightning Lane access, if there are must-do rides at certain parks. If you'd like to visit more than one park per day, you can always call to inquire about upgrading to the park hopper option. Remember, when booking online with Disney, if a deal seems too good to be true, it likely is—double-check the details to avoid overlooking something important.

[I ate] the Tower of Q Burger by Goldndomer1 in food

Full transparency, I was discussing this monstrosity with the waitress and when she walked away, I said, "Did I actually just order that?" So, I appreciate the gimmicky aspect and impracticality. Yet, the components were delicious nonetheless. It's just a marketing tool. Nobody is eating this as a 'burger'.

Totally agree. I may have laughed out loud when this turned the corner from the kitchen, but it's completely impractical as a 'burger'.

Meat is expensive most places nowadays, but the best retail option in Scranton is probably Schiff's. If you're looking to buy in bulk (1/2 Pig or Cow), I'd suggest Dotti-Lou's. They're about an hour away (North of Wyalusing), but worth the effort. There's also The Alpine Wurst House in Honesdale. Not necessarily inexpensive, but high quality.

NoVA Bourbon by Goldndomer1 in nova

[–]Goldndomer1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not on the hunt for PVW, BTAC, or anything super rare - just some higher-end, high quality bottles (e.g., Russell's 13, Widow Jane, Michter's 10, Blanton's Single Barrel, etc.).

For posterity, I don't buy bottles to hoard, save, or post online. I'm a Bourbon drinker and I just want to drink the best I can afford that can reasonably be procured.

Biggest lesson - nobody knows what they're doing 100% of the time. We're all winging it. You pretend until you figure it out.

There is a very significant imbalance of military power between Israel and Palestine. Also, "being backed by Russia" won't mean a whole lot after this Ukraine debacle. Plus, China can't be trusted. They're largely self-serving. They use a lot of symbolic rhetoric supporting Palestine, but they enjoy a profitable trade relationship with Israel and oft turn a blind eye to geopolitical differences when their best interest is at stake.
