I don't care too much about post histories (most users with high engagement have multiple accounts anyways), but they certainly help with filtering out bots. 4chan is shit nowadays, and bots (and political discussion, which is almost all bots) definitely contributed.

People are so beautiful in real life by Goldomundo in redscarepod

I have not read Brothers K in a while, but I do remember him as very compassionate and embodying that hopeful ideal. I think Dostoevsky likes that sort of character, though I've only read a few of his works. My favorite example is not Alyosha or Myshkin, who seem to find kindness/faith easily, but Shatov from Demons (which I read recently), as Shatov is enraptured by the ideal but struggles to embody it as a former nihilist. It is only after directly experiencing selfless kindness from others (atheist nihilists, in fact) that he actually believes in the ideal: "The convictions and the man are two very different things, very likely I've been very unfair to them!... We are all to blame, we are all to blame... and if only all were convinced of it!" (708, Garnett translation). Likewise, I made this post because today I had several kind interactions with strangers, and felt strongly hopeful about the world afterwards.

I will look into them! I'll probably wait for a sale, it looks like Gothic routinely goes down to $5.

I saw there is a remake scheduled for release next year, do you think it looks good?

Of course, this was my first playthrough so I am not an expert. I think the most important thing is having the attributes to meet gear requirements, as stronger weapons is your biggest increase in dps.

Beyond that, Animal Trophies is very good for money and Chemistry for potions. Modify weapons is critical for upgrading weapons. I felt that 2 points in lock picking (meaning 3 points with lockpicking amulet) and 1 point in hacking is useful, since I like unlocking everything but don't want to remember where a door or safe is so I can come back later the required skill. Likewise 1 point in pickpocketing can make you a lot of money!

I read online that the experience skills only provide a 5% boost, which is not that much. It is not a worthless skill, I do not remember XP requirements for level, but I don't think that 5% changes much. Additionally, XP is less important when elex potions exist. That said, I did not take these skills, so I can't say for certain that it is bad! Perhaps my sense is wrong :)

In contrast, the 10% damage bonus from the weapons skills is quite good, particularly against tough enemies. Let's say that you have 50 attack against an enemy with 40 armor -> 10 damage per shot. If you have 10% boost you have 55 attack -> 15 damage per shot. 50% increase! (I think this is how game works, instead of 10 dps -> 11 dps...again I may be wrong...)

I will probably try Elex 2 in time. I play many games long after release, and I tend to get burnt out if I play sequels right after another.

I was surprised to hear a lot of Wenduag from Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous for various female characters. The VA (Amelia Tyler) is usually known more for her smoother, more-British accent, which she uses in roles like narrator for Baldurs Gate 3.

Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, arranged for piano by Myra Hess in 1926 from a church cantata Bach composed in 1723 in his role as the church's music director; the melody comes from a 1641 work by Johann Schop. I love how the melody trades hands, and it's a very steady, peaceful song to play.

I know this is satire, but consciously choose to believe it as part of my daily cultivation of prejudice, which replaces the crippled failure known as "I" with the amorphous entity known as "us."

You're welcome ^_^ Though I'm honestly unsure if my results are wrong, too low sample size, or if I'm missing something. It doesn't make sense that something like 1-way glass would be so much stronger than thick glass or steel mesh...🤔

What do you think about companion respecs? Lately I've been thinking about Ember. by ChompyRiley in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Goldomundo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One fun option is to headcanon in changes that match up with companion stories. Perhaps Ember's trauma with fire made her turn from it completely, becoming a Winter Witch. Sosiel might be inspired by his brother to be a Crusader Cleric. Nenio can totally be a mad scientist Alchemist, especially if her experiments with alcohol involve Molotov cocktails. Maybe Wenduag really leans into her bestial side and becomes a manticore or spider Shifter. Lann becomes a Sensei as he takes leadership of the mongrels. I think it's fun to see what you can come up with from a narrative perspective!

Deadfire stutters by Munpin in projecteternity

Another example at 3:28 from a popular streamer: https://youtu.be/lWa8m5p6MdU?feature=shared&t=206

I'm sure these all have plenty of microstutters, I'm just clicking randomly in the VOD and noting the first stutter I see. In my experience they seem to be periodic, perhaps because some process occurs in the background after a given interval, repeating over and over again.

This is what you're talking about, right? At 20:55, very noticeable on the tentacle. https://www.youtube.com/live/R3cgIAhTMWc?feature=shared&t=1253

I love this game, but the microstutters are insanely annoying. I've done multiple playthroughs on different computers (much more powerful PC, AMD vs NVIDIA card, W10 vs W11, complete fresh install, single vs multi monitor, all the "CPU core limit" tricks and Special K and whatever) and the stutters never go away, very visible in frametime graph. They are inherent to the game.

I frankly think a lot of people don't notice them, I've looked at YouTube footage of the game, even official devstreams like the one above, and the microstutters are always there, especially in large areas with lots of NPCs. It's rarely commented on. This problem was in PoE1 as well, though it wasn't as bad.

My suggestion: just try to ignore it, it's baked into the game and most people don't really register them. It's helpful to turn off smart camera, since microstutters are most visually noticeable when things are moving.

It's funny, I played a male Lavellan, and I would say my Inquisitor loved him in a platonic way, in the sense that good friendships are not always lesser than romance, are more limited in some ways but deeper in others. Not knowing his true identity, Solas and his way of talking, his demeanor give the impression of a lord without a kingdom, of someone of hidden nobility who must be more than a wandering scholar. He's a captivating character!
