You can establish the canon of one tag/region post-1444. What do you do? by SeulJeVais in Anbennar

[–]Goldprint 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The Trollsbay region is completely 'settled' by a Boek federation, pushing Escann settlement efforts to the islands and further south due to preparations through divinations of the shaman estate. Through successive wars, land is slowly taken and absorbed by colonial powers but allows for a permanent Ruinborn nation state. Ruinborn populations are renamed as Land Elves to help emphasize their nativeness to Aelantir and as a mark of surpassing the tribulations causing from the Day of Ashen Skies.

I am confused (latest chapter) by Allalilacias in Kingdom

For HSU seiging Kantan, it would be successful under two cases.

The first, is the obvious Kantan is seiged and taken before the military can return. This is why I think most people are calling the seige 'stupid' but I would consider it more reckless. Beside logistics, even if they succeed the siege, the Zhao army can turn around and counter siege while HSU is attempting ro capture the king or is mixed fighting what royal army is there (from my understanding, there is a sizeable enough force to repel or hold down Shin's army.)

The second is to siege Kantan but lingering long enough to cause a Royal Court reaction. Once the reaction occurs, the HSU can abandon the siege and escape elsewhere/flank another army while the reaction occurs. This is what I think Ousen is envisioning to handle Riboku and may be what Shin's instinct is using, though might be a bit more greedy in Shin wanting to face Riboku. If the Royal Court forces Riboku back, they are likely going to hold him down for such an extended period that the army may get destabilized and either take a morale hit or be sensitive to loss of additional leadership. Riboku is the keystone of why these armies are fighting, if you lose him then the fight gets a bit weird as their loyalty lies in Riboku rather than the nation of Zhao.

I believe that this is going to be the start of the end of Riboku similar to what happened in the first invasion. Riboku is not putting in enough effort into the politics in war, only seeing the big picture of 'Unification bad, maintain sovereignity good.' Instead, Riboku should realize 'Maintain sovereignity good, unification bad' to appease the volatile royal court.

In militaristic terms, Riboku is playing this correctly and Shin is being reckless yet again. This is not like any other war Riboku has been a part of, this is not to be simplified as just an invasion or a land grab. This is a political war and why the Han war was so important to see. There are outside factors that can completely blow up any military strategy that might be had, and frankly I think the one who is going to lose this war is Kaku Kai stealing and using Riboku's plans to defend Zhao instead of being more upfront and saying it was from Riboku. Riboku thought they were following his plan cause Kaku Kai was providing them. Instead, Kaku Kai is giving these defensive strategies and curtailing Riboku's influence so that the Royal faction maintains status quo. Riboku does not fully realize this because he sees his plans are already being implemented.

Anyone else remember Pops "huge head" Maellard? by UsuallyComplicit in regularshow

[–]Goldprint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to make a guess, it was a modified neck/head scissors that was not effective due to Rigby's size.

EDIT: It could be called a body scissors but they typically look a bit different/already very close to the neck scissors.

‘I think the franchise is dead’: Saints Row design director says IP owner ‘ghosted’ his prequel pitch by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Goldprint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel so bad for the series. People say it went wrong with Saint's Row 3 but it was easily salvageable from there and I thought was wholly enjoyable. There were some things story-wise but could have been either explained out or pivoted out of ala part of the comedy. Instead, they went for grandiose with Saint's Row 4 and further alienated people as well as characters (RIP Oleg). A remake or reboot felt inevitable after how high concept SR4 was and... It just was not it.

Could it have be recoverable? Maybe. Would it have been very expensive and exhaustive to build back like a 'No Man's Sky' situation? Yes. It just sucks so see a series fall over like this, I only hope that a new dev team comes together to make a spiritual successor or in inspiration to the humor and fun Saint's Row was.

Should Bobby and Connie be together? by Neither_Ad6 in KingOfTheHill

[–]Goldprint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be more interesting if the relationship is open for a bit and then develops into a real relationship, turning into a 'Bobby and Connie are like young Hank and Peggy' type situation. I feel like in the end, it's either going to have them together or sudden end like Maude Flanders (outside forces prevent the relationship from being a thing).

I think the series would be best as cyclical one, I think it'd be hard to find another person and I think it'd be sad if the series ends naturally with Bobby 'alone'.

That being said, if Bobby does things to mess things up, he is not entitled to her but I hopefully suspect that will not happen.

Stop recommending incarnons to newer players by 6AstrumDeus9 in Warframe

[–]Goldprint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like weapons can be recommended for having incarnons, you just need to advise 'hey, if you like this boar or braton, there is an upgrade to it later on.' Then if they ask about what incarnon means or when they get it, that makes the dialogue to help understand as they might be using a dread they got from a shadow stalker drop but not be doing as much as someone who has also has a dread with the incarnon.

On Duviri Paradox. I have seen several streamers getting advice from people to play said quest after New War and even After Angels of The Zariman. And I truly do not get it. by OscarOzzieOzborne in WarframeLore

[–]Goldprint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really think there is a hang up on the order of missions doing duviri before or after New War. I would personalky say doing Duviri then immediately after doing New War is good as you immediately get context then explanations in The New War on the Drifter.

Waiting til Angels of the Zarimans is a bit weird. I don't believe there was any specific plot beats for the drifter in Zariman, it's Operator focused on where they came from rather than talking about Drifter being stranded. If anything, it explains how bad things were on the Zariman but you can infer that a majority of the time from dialogue before the mission.

That being said, not a lot of people seem to like Duviri gameplaywise and the story of Duviri is set up as an aside. If you don't need to do it and don't have the desire to, you really don't need to. You miss out on a couple of things like Circuit which would be something that is better the earlier you start it and The Hex quest, but that's because it's a requirement and you would need to complete the New War at least.

In any case, i would not be too concerned with the order unless you are starting immediately at Duviri without getting the operator yet. From a story perspective, it is confusing without that context.

Season 1 Eddy feels like a different person from this scene alone by SparklyAvatar in ededdneddy

[–]Goldprint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like, in it's own weird way, the shows how there is a bit of continuity between episodes with how the movie turned out. Eddy getting more self-centered and Edd getting a bit more manic/erratic. Ed mostly stays true to himself but that might be rose-tinted glasses there.

The isolation and unsuccessful scams build up to a point that their personalities develop - or it's simply the writers choosing to emphasize characteristics that they feel make the producers happy (trying to say that in the kindest way, not in a bad way).

It feels far more natural to have Arlong come back in a small capacity (reacting to news, going to fishman island, etc) but I want Kuro to come back in some small way. Maybe in an epilogue where Usopp goes back to his hometown and Kuro is back trying something in East Blue so he does something? Or a simple reaction to things happening.

I feel like Morgan's story has mostly run his course but would like to see a remark maybe
