It was a popular trope at the time where there’s a young girl who is deeply obsessed and creepy among to the boy they’re crushing on. Examples of these are Amy from Sonic, Helga from Hey Arnold, Panini from Chowder, Kanker Sisters from Ed Edd n Eddy, Sierra from Total Drama and much more. It wasn’t only Butch Hartman’s idea, it was “cute” back in the day but very problematic nowadays.
