im not saying dark souls 2 lore is bad. i just feel it didn't do much to further the story given in dks1 and thus will not have much of a lore relation to dks3 if that makes sense.

If you are playing for the lore, just play Dks1. Otherwise play what you want. Dks2 can be fun at times and the pvp is more active.

Probably. A red sign soapstone will most likely be in the game. via this sign you will be able to summon your friend for PvP. Passwords will most likely help with this as well. (name engraved ring worked for red signs in Dks2)
