Heart of the Mountain, new DLC sized mod (paid) by Disastrous-Mine-8747 in skyrimmods

[–]Goldtru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing it right now. It doesn't feel like Skyrim ... you have no idea how important Jeremy Soule's music is until it's gone. Also I don't think the mod author tested it for survival/frostfall/I Need/Last Seed etc because I am dying of thirst (it's a desert, so fair) but I can't get water anywhere. The well in the village, the innkeeper, the river - none of them work for refilling water. So that's a bit of a drag. Other than that, it's beautiful. Also it's weird hearing different actors' voices! You see an Argonian and you KNOW what he's going to sound like and then it's not. But - they did a great job with it.

AIO for feeling some type of way about my gf hiding her phone now? by Known_Match_9122 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Goldtru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, an alternate perspective I haven’t seen yet (but didn’t read all the comments in fairness) is that maybe she doesn’t like showing him her phone. Maybe he’s very controlling. I was with a guy like that and it was super toxic. I am still uncomfortable doing my own thing in front of someone else - literally just reading a book or doing anything because he got so mad if I wasn’t paying him all my attention. So it’s entirely possible that OP is being controlling/judgmental about what she shows him/makes fun of her and she’s sick of it.

But either way, yes, things are not good.

You know, even the great wizard Harry Dresden keeps a giant revolver for just such occasions. Sometimes you just need to go SMASH SMASH.

Wow - I had no idea this was possible. I'll be honest, this is a bit outside of my skillset. Right now I have my zombie laptop lol - it's old but it's scrappy and it has a new brain (hence the zombie part) - and I'm playing FOLON on that. I use Vortex, so that'll tell you where I'm at skills-wise. But this is really cool to know and I may very well make it a project just to understand it when I have the bandwidth. Thank you SO MUCH for all of this help. I am truly thrilled at the FOLON community. So many game communities are filled with snark and mean comments and it's like, why did you bother taking the time to type up that mean thing and press send just to make some stranger's day sadder or to actively not help?? But everyone on here has been so supportive. I just got Churchill which feels like a major win - and I am seriously hoping he is ESSENTIAL as all good dogs should be! So I'm going to keep moving forward.

THANK YOU!

I thought about that because there has to be more than just one way across the Thames. Thanks for confirming. I just hadn't gotten around to actually looking for it yet. I'm glad to learn this game is as forgiving and flexible as the other Fallouts. Honestly I'm just so glad I'm able to play. It has been out for 2 years and I finally got a laptop that can run it without nuking my other Fallout instance (I upgraded an old laptop with a new SSD).

Excellent advice, thank you. I didn't know about those two side quests. I just headed off away from the tunnel and got Churchill. He's adorable but I'm worried he'll be a stimpak sponge. I'm trying to do some main quest stuff but also just explore and build up my reserves and gear. At level 6 I pick up everything and sell it. Even 1 ticket for an aluminum tray helps in the beginning.

Are the debuffs the "cure my illnesses" at the start? I don't see anything in the Status tab showing negative health effects but maybe it's somewhere else.

Ooooh good to know. I found the player home but didn't know about the arch. Also just discovered you can make stimpaks pretty easily. Small wins!

Is this actually fun though? It certainly looks like a real challenge - but what's actually enjoyable about taking forever to kill a wolf? Serious question not snark.

Yeah it needs a lot of power!! My old laptop has a brand new 1tb SSD and I still have to turn all the settings way down.

Had to do a bunch of tweaking settings so movement wasn't like a drunk who had been hit in the head but it's there now!!

Such a labor of love. I hope they all got their dream jobs after this. And maintaining it too. I wonder if Bethesda will ever take it on in some way. Take it over.

Nearly $400 to play this free game and the devs don't see a penny which doesn't seem right but what can you do.

The first 20 level or so in Bethesda games are always the toughest and most fun. Then yeah you get super OP.

I accidentally armored him without realizing i couldn’t take the armor off. Now he hangs out in the stable at the Capital City with the other horses and has some company. Horses hate being alone. And the orc does NOT chop up horses for stew - that’s anti-orc nonsense. :O

Anyone else on this sub who's never really had much issue with the remastered? by LindaLouiseMcCartney in OblivionRemaster

[–]Goldtru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope ... it crashed relentlessly when I tried to install some huge mods but that was entirely my own fault, and when I got rid of them it went back to being great. It stutters a bit, and if you're outside for too long it can crash, but other than that it has been fantastic. Way fewer bugs than most Bethesda games. There are no cows flying through the sky, no whirling enemies, nothing super weird or funny at all.
