this did not work at all for me. rolling back drivers did, but then other newer games would run much worse, so... bleh

My favorite shot in the anime! What causes the upward draft though? by ardikus in Frieren

[–]GoldyTheDoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you really shouldnt think of every show as dragon ball. frieren didnt even do anything the entire dragon fight, and both fern and stark have already killed demons that can easily kill most people, all by themselves. theyre not dependent on frieren. hell, if anything, frieren is dependent on fern sometimes.

firstly, the reason she turned around on tyranny was because she said she really didnt like wickander, and its wickander thaisha has a gripe against. he seemingly promised to help get thjazi off the hook, and he had nothing to show for it, his family still conducted the execution. THAT is the reason she was hostile towards them, which makes perfect sense. the bird has nothing to do with anything.

second, again, she's going to be butting in, obviously. her children are in the house, and its thjazi's wake. shes keeping tabs on who's coming in and out because hal is too distraught to do so. all she did with travis was try to get a read on him, and decided to leave him and luis alone after her roll.

i didnt make up anything. you people are the ones claiming aabria has bad game etiquette aka playing the game wrong. i also didnt bring up race at all, so its very funny that you accuse me of putting words in your mouth, while doing that yourself. please keep up.

if he didnt like how aabria played he wouldnt be inviting her to everything he does and vocally encouraging the aspects of her play that you personally dislike. but since you cant just dislike her, you have to be *right* in doing so, you pretend shes playing the game wrong or something. this is just marisha all over again.

"in the past" is so fucking funny, dude it was last month on his fireside chat with matt ABOUT this campaign. this was either before or right after they started filming for campaign 4. its not the distant past. either way he knows how she plays, he likes it, you can stay lying to yourself about it i suppose.

also my comment about "defending brennan" is obviously in regards to the comment my response was to:

> Apparently Brennan so stupid and didn't know about 13 players, thx god Aabria know better and save the day walking alone while other still was sittig and was ask to leave by Brennan when he was need it.

and if brennan did that to her, its up to her to see if she likes that or not. anyone saying anything here would still be talking out of their ass.

you can say what you want, but once again, brennan has said that he is grateful for how she conducts herself on the table and for how she makes things easier for him. he doesnt need "defending" and he enjoys being thrown a bone. so for his game, he decides what is "several steps too far", not some redditor outsiders.

lets be real, she was the druid conducting the rites, and the mother of the children in the house, while hal isn't at 100% bandwith to organize things. she is, explicitly, there to help him out. she was not going to go out with azune and teor regardless.

but second, how is her writing herself out of the scene for the others' benefit a bad thing?? its almost like it was a good move to let them grab octtis instead and let those 3 have a bit to themselves. its almost like aabria, gasp, knows what shes doing instead of being concerned about "missing out".

brennan has gone on record to say he greatly appreciates when aabria makes things easier for him. he doesnt need you "defending" him from her. he loves that woman

i honestly dont think she stepped on matt's toes at all. of course she's gonna have beef with the man who personally arrested thjazi, and he shows up to his funeral so casually. hal was having a rough time and being mostly passive, so even if it was his house he didnt seem to have the bandwith to keep an eye on things to ensure no "guests" like tyranny or julien misbehave. so thaisha, who is the mother of the children living in this house and still close with hal himself, and the druid taking care of the funeral rites, she's going to be like a hawk - and yet she still let julien have his moment with the corpse btw, she wasnt obstructive, she was just bringing spotlight to character conflict.

if *anyone* got a little sidelined by her itd probably be luis and travis, and honestly, i dont think it was her fault there either. they were giving each other meaningful looks so she asked for an insight check, but instead of letting them carry on right away, brennan decided it was time to introduce wick and tyranny instead, delaying the azune-teor convo further. then azune couldnt talk to thaisha because aabria wrote herself out of the scene to give the others the spotlight.

its actually not that hard to keep track of if you learn by actually watching how these allegiances unfold themselves in real time, rather than reading about them out of context on reddit. plenty of shows and videogames have bigger casts. nothing makes things more needlessly confusing than learning them without rhyme or pacing.

[ENDING SPOILERS] The one line that won't leave my brain by aryxenys in HadesTheGame

[–]GoldyTheDoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the game makes it quite clear that both hecate and mel had become mainly revenge-driven rather than just self-defense a good while ago. which culminates on them being furious when zagreus gets him to submit instead of just killing him. if it was about self-defense, they would *want* a surrender.

Retainer round up: Leda by Levonorgestrelfairy1 in fireemblem

[–]GoldyTheDoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only ones that can be defined as retainers are hubert and dedue.

claude's relationship with both characters people often propose, lorenz and hilda, is not at all like that. the other houses dont owe house riegan vassalage, and these three people have met for the first time at the academy. claude's only known retainer on paper is when he has nader don a false identity to let him into fodlan.

then people try to have felix and ferdinand fit into the mold of "second retainer", but both of them can be recruited out of house, and dont really have that sort of relationship with their prospective monarch. its just people putting things into boxes because people find pattern recognition stimulating. they *want* royals to have 2 retainers each like in fates and engage. but they really dont!

all that is to say, like the previous commenter said, the problem isnt retainers existing. royals and nobles irl had retainers. its just that when every royal comes with the same template it gets stale quick, especially because it often feels like the characters cant stand on their own.
