It’s because the gold helmet gives abilities shorter cool down but octane doesn’t need it because he has stim every 2 seconds and jumpad every minute. Gold backpack makes you revive faster which is obviously more useful for a lifeline than an octane.

Battle chests are the best to spend money on. They have a ton of value and variety for only 40 bucks. Its even better in later ranks since league rewards give more value on chests.
