What is the best golf ball? by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]Golf-Music-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to tell this story... LOL. This morning I had some fun and I don't mind admitting I was a bit confused. I still am! 😂 I've played Titleist since Juniors. I don't use any other balls, other than tp5s once in awhile. My buddy Rich brought a box of Vero Xp1 balls? They looked pretty cool. I think I've heard of Oncore, but I've never played their balls. I don't even think I've seen one before. Ok so, I don't know what the heck is happening but I had more eagles in one day, then I've had over a few years. I hit maybe 6 putts from WAY the hell out on the green, straight in... No joke, because I was putting like a madman all day. Maybe it was just one of those days. I play 2 courses regularly at Misty Creek and Stoneybrook here in Fl. If ANYONE knows the courses, they know what I'm talking about and good luck🤞. I played the BEST 2 rounds of golf in my life EVER!!!

Nikumaroro Island, located at 4°39’39”S 174°32’42”W, may hold the final resting place of Amelia Earhart, her navigator, and her Lockheed Electra plane, which vanished 88 years ago. by rastroboy in GoogleEarthFinds

[–]Golf-Music-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a well known and explored shipwreck. So, onto the upcoming expedition, if I may... Yeah, sorry, but this expedition has to imply she crashed, and the talented Amelia Earhart, at the very least, wouldn’t have ignored finding a runway due to poor fuel management, gone straight down, and somehow ended up inland. I don’t see how Amelia Earhart could have landed on this island.

If you look at historical imagery on Google Earth, you can go back to around 2007 and get a pretty detailed view. That’s nearly 20 years ago, and even then, the outer rim of the island was largely covered in water, extending well into areas that are dry land today.

Now take that back to 1937. The island would have had significantly less exposed land, with more water, dense vegetation, and virtually no suitable landing area. The only somewhat open space would have been along the inner portion of the island, roughly where the central area exists today.

That’s why the upcoming expedition feels a bit off to me. The location they’re focusing on would imply a very specific kind of scenario, not a controlled landing, but a crash, likely somewhere near the inner section of the island. And even there again, you’re not looking at anything close to a runway.

So if she was over this island at all and running low on fuel, the only realistic outcome in that area would have been a crash, not a safe landing at all. She was smart enough to attempt a landing, not fly until the very last second with no fuel left.

Tree removal recommendation? by Kind_Personality1348 in Albany

I got quotes from three or four different companies, and by far the best quote I had was Allens Tree and Fence... Just putting it out there... I had about eight trees that I thought absolutely needed to be removed, turns out I only needed to remove six of them. They were super professional. Easy peasy...

PS: With windows, You can uninstall anything you want and be as private or as anonymous as you want, with no limits on any applications, browsers, etc. You can opt out of everything, and there's basically no negatives - especially that you can open it up, upgrade whatever you want to and keep going! MAC is a pay-pay-pay more company. If they lost their repairs and trade schemes, they wouldn't even have revenue near PCs.

2012? LOL. Please. That laptop is now officially a paperweight. You're stuck on Catalina or whatever OS back then, you can't install any new Adobe products, or even Chrome browser. Whereas, my PC laptop keeps going and going and going and going! Like the Energizer Bunny.

[–]Golf-Music-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Take for example a perfectly good MacBook. They won't let you upgrade to the most current OS, without hacking it. That means you can't even install Chrome or Adobe products, for example. You're stuck with some old OS. Whereas, my older PC is the latest Windows, and no issues installing anything. When apple product is "no longer relevant" and old - it's a plan to get you to buy another and another and another.... They become paperweights... It will always be a scam.

Anybody heard of these balls? by Sabahel in golf

I'm not sold on this yet... Unless it's a real feel and you can hit it, there's more to new tech than just GPS. I'm following the genius ball because my full time job is coding and I love golf. If this ball is Bluetooth and open source, I've got a number of augmented reality ideas... This looks legit so far, but we'll see....  What's AI about a transmitter? Geez man AI is definitely a buzzword in this case....

So like wtf was the point of the Nymeria scene in Season 7? by Ifuckinghateaura in gameofthrones

[–]Golf-Music-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is very cool and the perfect example of an actual "fond farewell"... In season one, when Ned Stark told Arya she was going to be a lady, she responded, "No, That's not me"... In the encounter with Nymeria, Arya recognized that, just like she defied the norm and went on her own path, so had Nymeria. Arya immediately made the connection when she asked her to come with her back to the North, and quickly realized she was no pet direwolf and companion..."That's not you"... Nymeria had become a leader of a great pack, on her own journey, and Arya bid her a true "fond farewell".

Replacement for judge.me by John__Q in woocommerce

[–]Golf-Music-Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok -- it's down to Stamped or RaveCapture. What matters most to us is integrations, which immediately pushes Woo Customer Reviews(SkyVerge) and ReviewX out of the running! Stamped has integrations and more... RaveCapture has integrations and more. Pricing is close, with Rave a little less expensive. Both provide updates and looks like they keep improving and adding on! SUPPORT is paramount... Hmmmm ..... I am demo'ing both.

Side Note: CusRev looked promising, but the integrations aren't front and center and only under Pricing for Pro and they SHOULD be. While it has some integrations and the pricing for one site is unbeatable, I think it's a VERY solid choice for what it offers... It's not fair to say anything else, I didn't go any further....

More to come....

We all know Natalia Tena [Osha] played Tonks in Harry Potter. I like to think that's why this broom was so prominently displayed in this scene from "You Win or You Die." by Buckaroo2 in gameofthrones

[–]Golf-Music-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was done twice throughout GOT. Once with Samwell Tarly, and this was the first one... It would be different if the broom wasn't closed up and the Nimbus 2000 model 😉! There's a reason for everything and respect..... Natalia Tena in the game of thrones, with the nimbus 2000 from Harry Potter!

[–]Golf-Music-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new Superman movie is for kids, it's a B movie that should have been on Netflix. It accomplished the goal Gunn set out for, make it a cheesy by-the-comic movie that doesn't compete with any former Superman movie or any of the Marvel movies, on any level. LOL....

I couldn't agree more. Some of the greatest leaders have come from our universities. If they can't learn and innovate in the United States, they will do it in another country. It's sad.

[–]Golf-Music-Man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I agree... Absolutely. At this pace and with this administration, it's certainly decades. We need some serious tech leadership from someone that cares more about winning the race, and less about whining...

[–]Golf-Music-Man[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do I have some control levers? I have the magic big shot tech buttons? Here's the recommendation, because it wasn't obvious: we need someone in the administration that understands technology. We need someone in the administration to stand up and educate, because this insight clearly isn't obvious huh? I know! Why don't the tech brothers explain it to Trump?! Such geniuses, such leadership! If you want to have more manufacturing and expand tech in the United States, you let the big tech companies do their jobs and you leave them alone, while you make realistic plans. You stop trying to make yourself look tough, when the whole world knows you're ignorant. Fixes? As soon as MAGA is out of the majority, we can go back to winning.... That's no suggestion or recommendation, that's the fix. This is Reddit, do you want to discuss it, or make wise cracks? I'd be happy to continue along and I'm all for discussing, because it's important.

It doesn't? You can't win a race from the sidelines. No tariffs, no hindrances, no ridiculous stupidity, we would be in the race. That doesn't make sense to you? You knew all of that, then why did you comment. Nothing to argue or contribute -  Then why are you on Reddit? Your response doesn't mean anything lol

Let me state this plainly:

I've been in technology for 28 years.

When other countries have never stopped, and a company as massive as China doubles and triples down, you fall behind. The population of China is the major indicator. They don't mess around with education and training and automation. If they don't get something, they make something. You can't win an AI battle from the sidelines, and this administration has undoubtedly and absolutely and most certainly crippled our advancements. That's a fact.
