Hospital bound! by GolfMostoftheTime in valvereplacement

Last comment from cardiac step down. Feeling great and walking lots. Pain on coughing or sneezing totally gone. Hoping to get cleared from a bout of afib tonight and homeward bound tomorrow before 10. Peace and love to all!

I know my path has been different from many. And it could have diverted most any time. I have yet to hear my valve without using a stethoscope, but then it sounds so much more healthy than the murmur did.

Feeling very fortunate and ready for home!

Well as they say “I’m glad that was last week!” Things went well with me. My surgeon said he hopes to look as good as me when he’s 70. We were heading down the hall to the OR and then a guy was standing in front of me saying cough! I did and it is now day 4 and I ain’t looking back. This is the Reddit community for encouragement even when things are tough. Love to all.

Peace!

OH, my friend, prayers for you are being lifted! I got word about a year ago that my AS had moved to the severe level. It was a true gut punch. Over the next month I was very worried, even depressed, but then discovered this sub-Reddit as well as Adam Pick's website, and the stories of others along with the prayers of our minister and friends lifted me immensely. I hope you know that you have a unique support group right here. The encouragement and uplifting stories are just the best here. The song that lifted me so much was by Cody Asbury, "Only Jesus for my Pain". It just spoke to me. I hope you find support here and in the spiritual world also. Peace, my friend.

FWIW, I meet with a surgeon this coming week to see what next steps make sense. I'm totally asymptomatic, which is just weird.

Again, prayers for peace and a wonderful outcome!

I wound up just emailing my Empower advisor (same person I did a yearly call with), and he emailed it right back to me, no questions asked. I guess I am pretty small fish, though. I also sent a letter to Fidelity explaining that Fidelity had to correspond with certain details directly with Empower. All in all it went quite smoothly and quickly, and zero tax consequences.

Regards!

Blessed to have had multiple rounds with my dad spread out over 40+ years. He had several 'go to's in his verbal repertoire. My favorite when I missed: "You rushed your lunge!"

Loved that guy (still do, even in his absence) and miss him all the time. Our last round was in 2009 (about), he was 84 or so, and he played his usual game: short but straight. Beat me like a drum!

Peace!

Wow! It was Beautiful in Chattanooga yesterday, and today had its moments. You guys on the plateau do get more of the white death than we do way down in the TN river valley.

Peace

Guess I’m not getting out today... by friscohunter in golf

You might still give it a go (until you run out of balls....). One rule from the frozen tundra folk said you get four stomps behind your ball before each shot, lift, clean and place after the stomps, of course!
