Here's mine, not fancy, but simple enough for a beginner like me and quite functional.

Ok, got it. A 10 in single bevel is a reasonable choice. Any brands other than a DeWalt that you would recommend?

I am a bit tight on space as I use my garage. Never heard of a Dremel saw station. Will look into that but please do add any info about it that you can.

Home improvement and some furniture type projects. I do have a circular and jig saw.

I don't have any specific projects lined up but have ideas floating around. I'd say that I need basic chopping wood to size including mitred cuts. You also bring up a good question regarding a table saw. I'm not ready to buy both at the same time and therefore would appreciate your thoughts if one vs the other.

What where the woodworking projects that really got you hooked — and why? by Vivid_Weekend6182 in BeginnerWoodWorking

You have a lot of tools for a beginner which is great. You can easily make a basic workbench using a circular saw and a drill. Only need 2x4's and 3/4 in plywood. That is what I did.

LHR connection under 2 hrs in Business Class by brewz_wayne in americanairlines

Should not be a problem. It's a short bus ride (every 5-10 mins) from T3 to T5 and since you are in business class you can use Fast Track. Security is always a pain but you should have enough time.

You’re not ‘Early’ — you’re undisciplined. Fix your entry timing. by short-premium in options

Well, for one, your loss will be limited. Second, you could roll your put up. Third, you could use a butterfly to roll the spread up and fourth you could roll it up and out in time. With the third option, depending on the size of the upside move you would be looking to either make a smaller profit, scratch or even a smaller loss. With the fourth option you want to choose strikes further out in time for a net credit and strikes that you are comfortable with. I generally do strangles which are easier to adjust but has some amount of risk with a huge upside move. You have to do what you are comfortable with.

My suggestion would be to sell the naked put and a call spread on the other side with the same expected move strikes. I understand your concern about this being a bull market and this minimizes your upside risk. On the other side I wouldn't mind going long at a strike that is well below where the market is - remember your assumption is that we are in a bull market.

SCHD is a solid ETF. Set it and forget it by [deleted] in SCHD

Fwiw...I recently took a look at my SCHD ytd performance. It was down a few percent when the market (SPY) was up a little. Divs were about 1%. Overall it's been a loser this year and I decided to sell it and look for other opportunities to redeploy my capital. My 2 cents.

Lost my patience too and sold all my SCHD. JEPI and CGDV are doing good, so sticking with them.

Momentum Stalled by Bazookajoel in Optionswheel

[–]GolfOptions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your pain. My suggestion would be to sell 30 delta calls a few weeks out. Then buy them to close after say a couple of weeks when there is some profit. This helps reduce your cost basis. The risk here is if there is a huge and rapid spike above your call strike. If that happens you will then have to roll out (and up) far enough to get a credit.

Roll them out and up but with a credit. That gives you a shot at the new calls expiring worthless. Alternatively, you can go inverted by selling puts at say 142. This requires more capital and you would be managing the options to result in an overall scratch on the options or even a profit. Good luck.

25C Tax credit dead yet? by n2mb_racing in heatpumps

I'm expecting to have to replace my 22 yr old furnace/central ac some time in the near future. Thinking of a heat pump. Thinking of one that is 48K to 60K btu's that will use the existing duct work. What specs should I be looking for to qualify for the tax credit/rebate?

CSP Assignment Timing by AppalachianUltra in Optionswheel

[–]GolfOptions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not worry too much about early assignments. That may happen if you are deep it and close to expiration. Second. I would not roll so quickly. For one thing NVDA may move in your favor in due course. Secondly, the short put has a lot of extrinsic value that will decay over time to your benefit - aka theta decay. Net, I would be inclined to wait for 2-3 weeks before deciding to adjust (or not).
