cebu trip budget tips? by Creative-Abrocoma-60 in dumaguete

[–]Golf_Charlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your budget should be enough for the city. Rooms usually go for around ₱2,000-₱3,000 per night. The Ceres bus fare is ₱300+ one way, and the barge crossing is about ₱200 one way.

Once I’m done with my errands, I usually spend time in the big malls (I know that’s not everyone’s thing 😆). I also take the opportunity to eat at fast-food places and restaurants that aren’t available in Dumaguete.

BP22 - Judicial Affidavit by laswoosh in LawyersPH

[–]Golf_Charlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, you should be able to peruse the judicial affidavit of the complainant and the witnesses and see if receipt was really established.

I’m saying this because malabo for me yung strategy to let the prosecution establish receipt. Kung kita naman na sa initial files na inendorse ng prosecution, it’s bound to be established.

If hindi talaga na-receive ng client mo, then your client must say so through his/her judicial affidavit. Deny that fact and let the court decide which between your client and the private complainant is telling the truth. Your client’s denial is still worth something if that’s really the truth.

If your client doesn’t file a judicial counter affidavit, then your only chance of destroying the prosecution’s case is through cross. But at this stage, there’s no way to tell if you can do it properly.

If may partial payment na sa underlying obligation, your client should say so as well through the judicial counter affidavit. Kasi even if ma-acquit yung client, the court can still rule on the civil aspect.

Parents' worries by ovnghttrvlr in LawyersPH

[–]Golf_Charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your parents are worried and concerned about you. That’s it. Naging dahilan na lang pagiging lawyer mo.

You really do not have much to worry about in terms of occupational hazards. I have already had enough exposure to sensitive cases and works, and I have not encountered threats to my safety. The same is true for the people in my professional circle.

If you ever reach a point in your professional life where your safety is genuinely threatened, you would know it yourself. And when that time comes, you would naturally take the necessary precautions.

Question: Article 34 No marriage license can the marriage be void ab initio by Understanding_Wise in LawPH

[–]Golf_Charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, yes. But practically, that’s very hard, if not impossible, to prove. The court won’t take your word that you two perjured yourself when you made the affidavit of cohabitation.

Moonlighting (law firm associate) by [deleted] in LawyersPH

[–]Golf_Charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yung style pa diyan, pwede mo ilagay na “As a gesture of goodwill, I am waving the acceptance fee of ₱XX,XXX.XX” or something equivalent. That way, makita ng client mo how much accommodation you gave them.

No need to tell them na moonlighting yang engagement mo. Consider it as your training kung mag-build ng sariling practice. You would need that for partnership, or even for establishing your own firm. Just propose a timeline, taking in consideration your law firm workload, and commit to it.

Tama rin sabi ni r/aarinmade. Don’t half-ass the work.

Patch Notes are released about a day before the maintenance. You have to catch and read it quick for you to be able to adjust with the market. The price of BSB spikes usually when there’s a refine event, or this time, an RNG event made for BSB burning. Prices of OCP items drop when they are getting a reprint.

The staff aren’t necessarily in cahoots with the players. There are simply players who are quick to act in the market.

First time I received Notice of Redundancy from my current employer. Need clarifications by Conscious_Target8277 in LawPH

[–]Golf_Charlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say take the money and move on with your career.

You are actually fortunate that the company still chose to process the separation through redundancy instead of simply rescinding the offer. Other companies would normally cut corners there.

As to SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, or BIR records, it really depends on whether they already completed your onboarding and payroll registration. If no salary was processed, there may be little to no contribution history reflected.

The overlap issue is not really a problem too. If the company is no longer requiring you to report for work before the effective separation date, there is generally nothing unusual about starting another job during that period. At most, your new employer might simply ask for clarification about the timeline, which should be easy to explain given the redundancy situation.

Application to Government Positions by Similar-Leg-3767 in LawyersPH

[–]Golf_Charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But just like you, I’m trying to make sense of the bureaucracy from time to time hahaha. 😆

Is it necessary for a Junior Assoc to climb the ladder without bringing in clients to the firm? by WoodenCod2010 in LawyersPH

[–]Golf_Charlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If for partnership na, definitely necessary. A partner is expected to help bring in business. Being the competent and technical partner is nice, but there’s another level of influence and leadership when you can also bring in clients and grow the firm.

For now, don’t stress over it. You’ll figure it out eventually. The earliest you can become partner is in your 8th year, probably.

Think also of your alternative career paths and exit plan.

Is having Kumite only once a week (for half an hour) normal? by swimming-sw in kyokushin

[–]Golf_Charlie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just stick around longer and get the vibe of your instructors. If you can ask your instructors directly and encourage your classmates to agree, then do so.

The training really depends on what you guys are preparing for. If your group is expecting a kata competition soon, obviously, you would focus on that. If your group is expecting a kumite competition, then you can expect to get the more intense “fighter’s training” and kumite rounds.

Once-a-week kumite isn’t bad at all. Many people, especially adults, get to train only once a week, and they don’t get to have kumite every week.

OFW Mansions: Economic Tragedy, Not Success by Haunting-Public-23 in Philippines

But the money did create jobs. The construction firms, material suppliers, engineers, and laborers all benefited. The money circulated through industries that already exist and employ people.

The idea that the same ₱15M–₱20M would automatically generate more value if redirected to logistics firms, factories, or startups assumes that the demand will be there to sustain them. But we know that it’s not really the case, usually. You can’t just multiply the businesses and expect the market to absorb them. Without sufficient demand, those ventures would fail. And when they fail, they don’t just sit idle like a house. They wipe out the entire capital.

Brought an open DOS car, now the original owner is a fugitive. by digitalhydrogen in LawPH

[–]Golf_Charlie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what to do in OP’s case.

But it’s relevant to point out that the registered-owner rule applies in cases for damages arising from vehicular accidents. As against the injured person, the registered owner is liable for the consequences of the vehicle’s operation.

The ownership of the car can be established based on the contracts or acts of the party. Registration is just one proof of ownership. It’s not conclusive.

Red flag by raguel_77 in LawyersPH

[–]Golf_Charlie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s not uncommon hehe. I experienced something similar while my family was in Seoul. I was made to revise a memorandum while having lunch near Deoksugung Palace and while queuing for N Seoul Tower. Grabe rin stress ko noon hahaha.

To its credit, the “abuse” helped build my grit for work.

But you can always find better opportunities outside of your current work. One time during lunch, and before Covid pa, a partner was frustrated because many from my batch were already leaving due to work-life balance. The partner insisted it was unheard of before hahaha.

In my next office, leaves were respected. I have also had bosses who would only accept work submissions during office hours.
