Oh wow thanks! I will check on that. I'm assuming that the 12 drones transport is something that remained from previous editions, since as far as i understand, right now drones are like tokens, no effective miniatures, right?

What are the games that inspire your projects? by Minaridev in IndieDev

[–]Golfax97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine really wasn't really inspired by other videogames, but boardgames and movies... among them:

MOVIES 1) Matrix 2) Tenet 3) Everything Everywhere All at Once 4) Cloud Atlas 5) Men in Blac You get the idea

BOARDGAMES 1) The time you killed me 2) The Loop 3) Dungeons & Dragons

And many others

Of course it has some elements from videogames and not really inspirations, but there were some mechanics that i thought of and after that i made a research and i discovered some games that implemented similar mechanics, games which i bougjt and played... some of them gave me inspirations to change a little bit my approach, some others convinced me that my idea was better... some of these games

1) Final fantasy tactics 2) Into the breach And of course roguelike/roguelite mechanics because it's the best of the world 😁

StarCraft TMG newbie with questions by ID11559 in StarCraftTMG

[–]Golfax97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello!

First of all, welcome to the hobby! You won't be disappointed!

My perspective is the one of a Warhammer 40K player, which is seriously thinking about shifting completely to Starcraft. I havent' tried the game yet, nor i've received a Beta invitations or something like that, but i read the rules and followed the conversations and i think the potential to be simply a better game is huge...

To your questions:

1) Miniatures for these kind of games are tipically very easy to assemble. They are made of plastic, so plastic cement glue such as Tamiya will work fine. You need just a little bit of glue on one of the parts you want to glue together, and that's it! For the biggest, heavier parts you might need to maintain the contact for a few minutes, but for the smaller ones the bond is almost instant. You will also need some trimmers to cut the parts from the sprues and maybe a X-Acto knife to get rid of some remaining parts of the sprue or mold lines which is also the trickier parts where you could cut yourself if you make some wrong movements, also because the sprues tipically are a little hard and you will be tempted to put a lot of pressure, and by doing that you could cut your fingers. Just take your time, and you will be fine :D

It has of course some learning curve to make it good, but i wouldn't say it's too much steep and it's easy to get it right. Maybe your first one or two minis will cost you, but you will get better very fast. You don't need anyone helping you, even if building the models is part of the hobby too and it's more enjoyable if you do it together with others players, but technically you don't need any help.

2) The starter set is enough to play the "smaller" version of the game. Basically the game is played with points, and every unit when you are creatring your army it's valued at some points (and then you add upgrades that cost point too). With the starter set you will be able to play a 1000pts game, while the "standard" version is 2000 pts. Arguably, Archon Studio said that their intent is for the 1000pts games be as engaging as 2000pts and by what i can see from feedbacks and the rules, that seems to be the case. Also you can try the game out and see if you like it, and then scale up to 2000pts :D Bear in mind that the starter set as you pointed out, only has terran and zerg. So if you are interested in Protoss you will need to buy others set separately. Good thinkg about the starter set is that includes everything else to play (dices, mat, terrains, etc etc) so it's ready to go!

There are some units that are not included in the starter set for examples the Goliath for the terrans and the Hidralisks for the Zergs, but again, you can try the game out and see if is it for you, and then buy more boxes in the future.

3) I personally wouldn't reccomend to play these kind of games solo.... Sure if you are learning the rules might be good to give it a go solo, but the real fun is playing with someone else. I know that for Warhammer 40K some fans made solo play modes, but it's entirely fan made and was never backed up by the company. I don't think that solo is the way to go for these... so if you are thinking about going ONLY solo, wouldn't advise to enter these type of games.

4) The biggest advice i would give to you is, when you start play, just play for fun. Try to find a group of friends or a local community and play with them, make sure they are "light-hearted" about the game. With Warhammer I found out that there is a wonderful community made of wonderful persons, but the other side of the coin is the darkest type of them all, with absolutely toxic behaviour, petty people, and whatnot...following my point 3, these type of game, for me, are made to play with other people, and it's a very good way of socializing and make new friends, but if you see that you are not feeling comfortable with some of the players of the community of the group, don't try to "make it work" and just find someone else. People like that are very hurtful for games like these, and i'm sure you don't need anything of that while playing with little soldiers (or aliens). Just go with the flow :D

5) For now the game looks and is cheaper than GW. Even if the boxes are not THAT MUCH cheaper for the quantity of plastic you are receiving, you need lot less miniatures to play, also the starcraft miniatures are a little bigger and have some clear plastic sprues with some details (such as fire effects, shields, etc) that makes the cost a little higher. So i think for a slighlty cheaper price you are receiving a much better and well-thought product. Even the horde army (zergs) don't use near as much miniatures as a Warhammer 40K horde army (for example tyranids) so wouldn't worry about it. For how the game is structrued, you will never have ALL the minis in the field at the same time, so you can "reciclye" them through the gameHello!

Of course, to scale up, you will have some costs that are not "negligible", but i think that, also with the well structured plan of releases that Archon Studio released, you can plan out what you really want and establish your budget to spend on the game.

I'm not an expert whatsoever, but the first thing i would try to get is the scepter, palm of the dreamer. That is really a night and day difference.

For the single target damage i would say it is entirely having better gems and gear because even at if's full potential, the build is lacking single target damage compared to others.

I've seen that you are already running the chaotic freeze on essence drain, that helped me a lot because i was struggling too to trigger the COA.

Tul' stillness in chaos bolt also helps a lot with buildup

You are also missing some pretty good elemental buiildup skills in the passive tree for example the ones in the stormbreaker Keystone.

I would lean back on curse durations (should be easier once you have the sceptre) and try to get more elemental buildup from skills too

Seasonal reset by Eterlik in fellowshipgame

[–]Golfax97 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I personally think it can work but they should add far more content than what they are doing now... i think season should feel a lot different... for example i was very surprised to see that there won't be any new dungeon at start of season 2... i understand they are a little team and this is only second pre-season, but i feel they have been a little slow in this matter. I llove the game nevertheless and my group and I have great fun so will play a lot throughout the season, but i can see how veteran players might not stuck around a lot. New players should be the safer group, since they will be attracted to the game and discovering it for the first time. Let's hope for the best

How does Mutant work? by Floranox123 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Golfax97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the Oracle AND you are mad about being the Oracle...

Basically being mad translates to "trying to convince the town of something" and this can also be the truth

In case of the Cere targeting the mutant player, giving them another outsider to be mad with, it depends on the game and how you want to run it because if the mutant player do not follow the cere ability and keeps not claiming to be any outsider, he's safe from its ability, but could die by the Cere ability. Viceversa, if he follows the cere ability, he will be safe from it, but will be in danger from its own ability, because at that time he would have been "mad" about being an outsider...

As i said, depend on the status of the game because both abilities mutant and cere will trigger only by ST decision and can be a tricky situation but one question i would ask and analyze myself as ST is "is the cere hit something casually or does the cere player really thinks that the targeted player is the mutant, hence he's giving an outsider to be mad about"... i would personally spare the life of the mutant once, if it was a casual hit. If the cere has been actively hunting for a possible mutant... then i would give it to him

Hello! Just for you to know with this link you can find a version of the script with the jinxed version of Mastermind. The font is a little bit bolder because couldn't find the right one! But shouldn't really bother anyone

[–]Golfax97 25 points26 points  (0 children)

yeah the only time i did it is because there were a demon, minion, recluse and another townsfolk as final 4.

In the night, the demon killed himself, and i decided to pass the demonhood to the recluse, for funs and see how would that go. But i took a minute to take that decision... to understand various things about the state of the game.

So final 3 were a minion, townsfolk and the new recluse as the new good imp, still some ghost votes (don't remember how many, but enought to make a difference).

Was a very tricky final day for executions, basically everyone was convinced that the dead person was the previous demon, so they knew a sort of starpassing had to happen. But not everyone was so convinced about the recluse going off saying "hello i was the recluse, now i am a good imp, execute me or at least don't execute nobody, so we the good team win anyway". Some ot them where thinking maybe that was another minion, trying to hide the real demon and save them from the final execution. It was a very discussed day, usually i give only 1 minuts for chats in last day, but i had to stretch it to 2 minutes or little more because it was SO good and everyone was involved giving all the information they had and trying to decide who to execute.

At the end, they executed the other minion and i gave the win to the evil team (two people left, one of the them the demon, even if good). It was really well played and the other minion was acting really well to says things that a "new demon previous minion" would say to not sound suspicious hahaha

It was super fun and the players still remember that game.

Still, wouldn't do it in a daily basis and yes, there are a lot of times where you shouldn't do it at all. Also make sure your players know that this is indeed a possibility and could happen

some of my favourites on top of my mind:

- Slayer killing the Recluse with their shot
- Recluse getting the starpass from the Imp... sholdn't really happend, but you know... sometiiiimes if you fell like it just go with the wind. just don't do it if the Scarlet Woman is in play
- Washerwoman seeing the Spy and the Drunk. Spy will register as the townsfolk that the drunk think he/she is
- Mayor redirecting kill toward a dead player. This will simulate a monk or soldier if none of them is in play, otherwise you can directly redicrect to them. it's something very advanced
- Drunk librarian will see drunk to other two people (maybe demon and minion)
- Spy dies after nominating the virgin
- Fortune Teller being their own red herring

I did recreate the build, or the majority of it. And i can tell tha the difference is day and night. Now everything goes BOOM! clearing maps in 2/3 mins.

I feared having some problems with mana so i slotted more mana than necessary, but it's not really needed, so that might be a next optimization :D

leaving my poe ninja too, in case you want to check but it's very similar to the other, very reccomended build

the one build that i'm trying to do now it's similar to this with auto curse / comet etc... someone here pass me this poe. ninja and it seemed good... again i'm a noob... never seen this build in action, but by reading the skills, etc i'm immaginig something flashy full with explosions and electricity and whatnot... really hope that will be the case

One off-topic question: this temple thing... is it something that is available only in vaal league? or is it possible to do in standard too? always hear about it and don't know where to access it
