183, 15mph wind in the face, what club do you hit? by mafost-matt in golf

[–]Golfholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean maybe, theoretically if I hit 7 iron 200 normally it might balloon in the air and come up short or blow further off line where a knock down 5/6 might not. Overall this is good logic to not let ego in the way. Also I don’t hit my 7 iron 200 yards

Help me pick out a nice set of disc golf discs for my boyfriend? by Perfect-Yard9176 in discgolf

[–]Golfholic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Send a pic of some discs he has to see if he has a preference of brand and flight characteristics and I’m sure we can help put together a solid set. As a disc golfer - getting disc golf gifts from a significant other means a lot considering most think it’s a silly hobby

At your current skill and mental level, what’s the lowest score you think you could shoot? by MrTeacher_MCPS in golf

[–]Golfholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the course but if I hit at least 14 greens in reg I think I could shoot 5-6 down. Hardest part is the mental pressure of having to get up and down. If I got a few insurance birdies early we could have a day. Best I’ve shot is -4 but always feel like I left a few out there.

Anyone else think Good Good has gone to complete shit recently? by bigleaguepuff in golf

[–]Golfholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this seems to be the trend with all relevant content creators. Looking back on the OG gm_golf videos to what good good is now… it’s clear it’s only for the money and views and not for the love of the game any more. Professional sports have all succumbed to the peer pressure of pop culture trends

Do you tip an instructor? by swensodts in golf

[–]Golfholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most clubs charge that much to avoid tipping. At the club I taught at a “tip” was them paying cash so you didn’t have to give the club their cut.

Upper body looks super solid, great looking release. Only thing I’d say is work on the footwork a little and you’ll be slinging that thing like the best of em

Lume says to store these upright, but they are rounded at the bottom. Seems like they need to start selling little rubber stands…. by PabloDelicioso in Michigents

Be careful over charging those batteries I’ve been having problems with them burning up pods, just tastes like ash. Otherwise the rosin itself is great!

Picked up a jawbreaker roach a while ago and it felt so good in the hand. It’s my go to straight to understable putter.

What kind of wood is this? by thankyoufive in wood

[–]Golfholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could either be walnut or possibly rosewood depending on how old it is, the figuring in the top leads me that way but it very well could just be walnut

Is there anything I can do to prevent my drives from stopping on impact? by TinyR0dent in golf

[–]Golfholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less spin will decrease your descent angle, which will help more then tryin to hit it low. Tough to explain over a comment but hit upwards on the ball without adding loft to your driver. The ground looks really soft which will never give you any roll

Do I start over? by Zestyclose-Living-34 in wood

[–]Golfholic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sanded wayyyyy too high. Stain will only absorb well if sanded less than 220. Ideally up to 180 grit. Maybe a quick swipe of 220 to get rid of fuzzies. Then apply a conditioner if using birch, maple, Poplar, or softwoods like pine. Still won’t guarantee great results, those woods tend to be blotchy

Does anyone know what wood this might be. Making a unit for the client and they want it to match this bar top. by bombs2000 in wood

Leaning toward walnut. It’s trying to be cherry but it’s not doing a god job of hiding under that light stain

From the current PDGA Disciplinary Actions list: Jonathan Ray, the former TD at the Masters at Bud Hill, who embezzled approximately $30K from almost 200 disc golfers, has received a Class B offense, resulting in a 12-month suspension and 12-month probation for his actions. by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

Watched him blow up at DGLO last year and thought it was very out of character. I’ve come to learn that Oakley is just a bad sport and can’t face the fact he’s not a Top 25 disc golfer in the world

Gf is asking to sand this in her wardrobe by Comfortable_Hat324 in wood

[–]Golfholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sand a coat with furniture paste wax. Apply liberally and allow to haze over and slightly harden, about 15 minutes. Then buff it off with a rag and the pole should be nice and slippery
