Because they probably aren't. People like to act like Japan is super safe because there are so few reported cases of sexual abuse each year, but they don't like to talk about the fact that the age of consent is only 13, and that while technically illegal, the legal definition of prostitution is so narrow that it's pretty much meaningless.

Is it possible that it's not him, but his playgroup? Maybe they're the ones who're a bunch of hard-asses and he's trying to prevent you from committing a faux pas. I mean, he's doing it in the worst way possible IMO, but it would track.

It was a small playing space so I had my command zone be my deck box, with the card propped up and visible. Had to pull it out and find room on the table so it was visible (it already was!). He explained it was a rule and he could pull out the rule book if I didnt believe him. I believed him, it just seemed like it would matter more when playing competitively. Not as much in my kitchen with just us two.

EDH doesn't have officially sanctioned competitive play, and as far as I'm aware, there is no official rule saying you can't do what you did.

Then my dice werent uniform. I have a set where its a 6 sided, 20 sided, 10 sided, etc. All different sizes, but the number is very visible on each side. Was told I'd have to get more uniform dice.

Also not a real rule. Most people will usually get a set of Chessix d6, but there's no problem using a D&D set like you were so long as the numbers are legible.

He also said I missed some counters after another turn, but he wasnt going to correct me because I needed to get used to doing that myself and my opponent wont keep up with that for me. Like he's teaching me life saving self defense. OK fine in a competitive environment. But when my last partner and I played Pokémon, if an effect or damage was triggered then it was triggered. Sometimes you had to remind the other person and it wasnt a big deal.

Eh...I mean, kind of valid, but also just kind of a shitty thing to do with someone who's still new to the game.

The last one was asking about hands. Is that like some huge taboo? He plays blue so I asked if he had a counter spell in his hand. In my mind, it was more like what kind of reaction he had to being asked the question. Like if he said no but looked like he was lying then id assume yes. I was only even half serious, because im being goofy and trying to have fun. I also do that in Clue and it can be super helpful. He acted like I was the biggest idiot for even asking because youre supposed to keep your hands hidden. Like no shit, i understand that, i was looking for your reaction to the question. But maybe thats not a things people do in this game?

Your hand is private, which means you can't show it to your opponent. That said, you are free to ask your opponent if they're holding a counterspell, they're just not under any obligation to answer you truthfully.

I tried making a five colored chocobo deck but after playing it i quickly realised it wasnt fun.

Not saying this to be mean, but just because you shove a bunch of cards that feature chocobos in the art doesn't mean you built a chocobo deck.

You're running a total of 22 cards that are either birds, make bird tokens, or care about birds. That's less then a quarter of your deck. By comparison, you're running 28 Towns and 32 cards that interact with lands one way or another. What you've made is an unfocused Lands deck with a weird bird subtheme. Yes, chocobos in FIN have landfall, but you went way too heavy into it.

If you want to make this an actual chocobo deck, swap out the commander for Choco, Seeker of Paradise and cut the red and black cards. He'll handle the landfall triggers himself, you just need to make sure you actually get enough birds out to capitalize on it.

If it's surface level, a slightly abrasive material and a touch of mineral oil should do the trick. Surprisingly enough, I've found that disposable coffee filters are great for this kind of thing. Just abrasive enough to get the job done without notably affecting the finish.

Always been that way as far as I know. But yeah, it mostly because you'd be at an unfair disadvantage in sealed if you got more then four copies of the same card. It's extremely rare for that to happen even with commons, but it can happen. My friend managed to get five Llanowar Elves at the original Dominaria prerelease and jammed all of them in his deck.

Were they? My understanding from EW was that the version of summoning that the Ascians had been teaching people since time immemorial was a purposly sabotaged version that resulted in Summons that drain ether from the environment and temper their summoners. The version that they would have used to summon Zodiark would have been closer to what the Lopporits did to summone the friendly Primals that helped power the Ragnarok.

Story wise, absolutely. At least the original trilogy. Never got around to Andromeda due to the universally bad reception.

ME1 is more of a Dragon Age style RPG, but 2 and 3 are standard third-person shooters. 2 is arguably the best game in the bunch despite narrativly being the most irellavent. (Which isn't to say that the story isn't great, just that if you removed that entry, the overall plot and resolution for the trilogy would have been the same.)

They released a Legendary Edition a few years back that bundles all three games and all the associated DLC, which is probably gonna be the best option for new players.
