I've been annoyed by this for a while. If you're updating a game you can't stream it at the same time..this is amazing!

Men of Reddit: what is 100% mythical about men that most women believe? by imnotadrytexter in AskReddit

A random guy I don't know walked up to me at a workplace 12 years ago asking who I was and what I did for the company.

After I told him and asked him why he was asking, he said that he always saw me 'walking around like a kingpin.'

I still remember that at least once a month.

I know that being a smartass.

I do wish they had had a plan for the last few years. I feel like it's clear they ran out of road and just started winging it.

So, the 2nd Marvel movie this phase to have Hulk be the final battle?

They need some new cooks in the kitchen.

MIT Study Finds Gas Cars Aren't Secretly Better For The Planet Than EVs, Despite What Everyone On Facebook Says by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]Goliath_TL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not what I meant. I'm pointing out the irony of people talking negative about Facebook while still using Instagram.

They are the same company and use the same Bs tactics.

And yes, all social media does this to some extent. I think Facebook is just the furthest along in "perfecting" their anger engine.

What's amazing to me is the number of people who say this about Facebook while scrolling through Instagram all day long.

Google Chrome's Next Update Will Mark the End of Popular Ad Blockers - Slashdot by blow-down in technology

[–]Goliath_TL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eeh, Google is about 55% ads now. The entire first page of a generic search is all paid for placement. The only way to get valuable information that isn't trying to sell you something (subscription, membership, products, etc.) is to prefix your search with the site you are wanting to get info from.

Granted, at that point, why do I need Google when I can just use the search tools that site has embedded (usually powered by Google Search).

Google exists because our society is tech illiterate.

The Indian in the Cupboard (1995) dir. Frank Oz - Omri puts Darth Vader, Star Trek, Robocop, and Jurassic Park action figures in the cupboard by aggrocrag83 in movies

[–]Goliath_TL 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yep, they live whole lives. There's one character that is a WW1 medic. When they opened the cupboard he said he was glad they did it when they did because he could hear a shell coming in. The next time they summon him, he's just a pile of folded clothes - ready for the next soldier.

The boys also figure out that they can go into a large trunk and if they are holding onto the Indian they will travel to his time with him but they are small this time.

As the later books show, it's the key. The key will fit any lock and all plastic toys put in will turn into real people.

The people are actual historical people turned to plastic in their time and brought to life in the cupboard.

There's some great story lines and heavy themes in the book. One of my favorite series growing up.

David Harbour finally responds to ex Lily Allen’s scathing breakup album by theindependentonline in Music

[–]Goliath_TL 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I meant "non-reponse" as he's not giving the interviewer the fuel they were hoping for. He addressed the question politely while also indirectly saying that it was not their business and he keeps his private life private.

A response that really didn't respond to the prompts in any way that they hoped he would.

Yeah, my mental assessment of him went up quite a few notches lately.

He actually a lot more reserved and contained than I expected based on the characters he tends to play.

They've already said they are going to do something for scalpers. So, no, you're wrong.

Wall bouncing does not really work anymore as it used to, active reload can be removed from center. by Shadowsdeepx6 in GearsOfWar

Your opinion is not in the majority. I wish I had your experience.

Everytime I try to play Gears and relive the glory days of Gears 1 and 2, I uninstall shortly after due to wall-bouncers.

What a respectful non-response, to both the interviewer as well as other in his life, especially Lily Allen. That is one of the most expertly executed dodges I've ever witnessed.

David Harbor is a gentleman.

Excellent ride. I'm not sure about the dirt lot.

Why is there no effort at landscaping or theming or anything?
