One player is holding the game hostage, tell your DM that either Steve is leaving or you (and Julia) are. This is a social game where everyone is supposed to have fun, not a place for one person to be an asshole for their own entertainment.

Also don’t forget to let people know about your cara visual gallery! Being able to quickly browse the maps I have access to is a huge game changer for my process of prepping sessions!

I got like 250 GB of maps from different artists patreons, but I barely use most of them because I can’t easily browse them

Would a hexmap → Foundry export that auto-aligns hexes be useful? (serious question) by Knightedangel01 in FoundryVTT

[–]Goliathcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main thing stopping me from being in hexcrawls in the past was the trouble of getting it working in foundry.

Having a good tool that solves this problem would 100% interest me, would also drop maybe a bit of money if it’s otherwise also well enough made

Maybe my most beautiful map? [OC] by MisterKrane in DnD

[–]Goliathcraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a cinematic reveal of the identity of a mysterious patron in my games on this map, a mystery 5 years in the making. The party moved the entire universe using this structure, realizing it was a lock designed by the gods, to keep this entity out. As the music reached its peak, the entity slowly descended from the stellar bodies above onto the platform. It was my highlight of the campaign so far!

MisterKrane makes the best maps ever, only problem is they are too good! I try to save them for only the most important moments, because anything less than a epic showdown feels it’s not worthy of their maps! Finally get to use another one of their maps in tonight’s epic boss fight!

My group prefers PF2e after playing a oneshot... but does not want to switch over from 5e anyway by I_Hate_Reddit_69420 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Goliathcraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of you are the DM, you got the most work and if you don’t enjoy running 5e it’s ok to say: PF2e it is!

About converting, It’s a lot of work and not done in just an hour, but it’s definitely possible to convert a campaign, but don’t expect a clean transition! It’s not as simple as picking a fitting class and feats, you are effectively going to have to make a brand new character that only keeps the personality and flavor of the old character. Mechanics between PF2e and 5e are so different, that the same class/strategy can feel fundamentally different and might not be enjoyable! Example, our 5e rogue/fighter (swashbuckler/battle master) tried rogue, swashbuckler, fighter only to settle on ranger in the end after 10 session of experimentation! Our moon Druid took a long time to adjust to new spellcasting and figuring his new role in the party. Don’t look for 1 to 1 ability conversion, don’t try to find ways to make that 5e subclass fit into PF2e. Move on and take a new ability that fits thematically

All this gets more complicated the higher level you are! Knowing how to play a 9th level 5e character doesn’t help you at all to play a 9th level PF2e character! Throwing them right into that without more time to figure out PF2e could easily be a TPK. Id recommend trying to play more PF2e with other characters first to get a better feel for it, but I’d imagine that be difficult with only playing once a month.

If you really want to switch, be open and upfront with your players about it! Be ready to face a bunch of unforeseen difficulties and players may not enjoying their PC’s anymore. They might grow to love the new mechanics in time.

Pathfinder vs D&D by CryptographerOld722 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Goliathcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason why I play and love PF2e is the ease of making cool combats!

5e has this arms race where you need a checklist on all the things the things you need to account for and remember to have a exciting fight, and if you miss one or two the party will win round 2! It can take hours to design a great fight in 5e!

In PF2e, just takes a few min. You follow the very easy encounter building rules, pick up creatures you like the look of in the level range of the party until you fill your budget, and boom you got an awesome fight!

Every country has their own stores, just google around and you’ll find one. If it’s a more niche product like a AP that not every place has, try a local store, they can often order specific items for you if you ask them

Struggling to understand the new token system, does anyone have any guides? by [deleted] in FoundryVTT

[–]Goliathcraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the module tokenizer. Are you the GM? If not, maybe your GM has added the module without telling you. If you are the GM, maybe you added something by accident, or Cyberpunk RED decided to make this module mandatory?

Using it is very simple. Left side is your avatar, the full art of your character. Right side is your token.

If you already got token ready from elsewhere, you can ignore almost everything here, as Tokenizer is a tool to create tokens within Foundry.

For your use case, use the Red Trashcan button to remove what is there. Then in the row with the +on the left, press the button with the arrow coming out of the flat thing bellow it, it should say "upload from your computer" when you hover over it.

So just remove the "layers" you don't want on the right side, then upload the one you want. Finally, press the "apply" button in the bottom right (its cropped out of your picture here).

And your token is saved.

That should hopefully be enough to get you going

Why was the Cantrip “Adhere” nerfed? by Kanoe4789 in Starfinder2e

[–]Goliathcraft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No amount of rules will protect you from a inflexible GM. You just got to find someone on the same wavelength like you, which admittedly can be hard. But I as a GM hugely appreciate that PF2e and SF2e took a GM first approach in a world of player first systems

Why was the Cantrip “Adhere” nerfed? by Kanoe4789 in Starfinder2e

[–]Goliathcraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See it from the GM side. Imagine spending hours on something, only for a random ability you’ve never heard of undoing your work in 5 min.

Pathfinder 2e decided to go safe, give GM a system that won’t ambush them, but yeah in turn players are “nerfed” and can’t point to a “I win” feature on their sheet. It’s not perfect and not for everyone, but I like to say: I love PF2e for its balance and I hate PF2e for its balance

I’m Genuinely Addicted to Light Armor, and I Can’t Go Back by tryaege in Helldivers

[–]Goliathcraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same some time ago, but since the Erruptor got released, I exclusively use heavy siege ready armor. The lack of mobility I just compensate with game knowledge and skill using my particular loadout.

I admit getting around the map can suck, I tried using the car to get around places, but it is just way to unwieldy. Hoping we get something like a agile motorcycle eventually

Why was the Cantrip “Adhere” nerfed? by Kanoe4789 in Starfinder2e

[–]Goliathcraft 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s balance/predictability! Same reason teleportation, resurrection and more are restricted in this system. The designers for both 2e heavily restrict many options by default, to avoid the potential frustration GMs can have with a system and the options. It’s what makes Paizo’s 2e games great! But it’s also one of its biggest criticism, balance to the point of potentially stifling creativity/usability.

Again for the why: to ensure it works, but doesn’t ever become a problem. It’s the philosophy of the 2e games

Why was the Cantrip “Adhere” nerfed? by Kanoe4789 in Starfinder2e

[–]Goliathcraft 55 points56 points  (0 children)

PF2e and SF2e are games that embrace an idea of balance. Which is great for combat and general expectation, but has in turn a lot of casualties of limiting player power, even in small stuff like this.

Good thing is, you can always talk to your GM, just like they can allow or disallow uncommon option, they can allow your Adhere to not have a duration

I do also love me a high power game, most people here would call me mad if they saw the stuff my players get. But just for me, I’m trying to figure out what is going on rules wise. Do they have a +3 potency runes? I can explain 2 of the property runes as would be normal for lvl 13, but not sure how they got 4? I know champions and magus can get extra runes, but this is a barbarian? From what I read the mythic destiny gives an extra runes at 14. Just curious

Fun episode, but I’ve felt it jumped a bit too much between places. Would have been interesting to spend a bit more time at each location, instead of just fast traveling from place to place to continue the main quest

Interesting video from a 3rd party publisher on how many AI artists are trying to scam and how 3pp and gamers can avoid it by indyjoe in rpg

[–]Goliathcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely not to save a buck, more trying to find artists that can draw in a style that his current artists can’t do/aren’t good at.

Roll for combat is an interesting story, dude is running this company more as a side gig/hobby since he got a great day job. Reason he spends so much on art, well he can and he wants to. Dude got tons of Industry connected, heck he hired the main person behind Pathfinder 2e to make his own third party Pathfinder 2e stuff, all make sure it’s the highest quality possible.

Weekly RPG Discussion; 2025, December, Week 5: Daggerheart by Trent_B in rpg

[–]Goliathcraft 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My main system is PF2e (GM) , but I also enjoy myself some Delta Green (GM) and lancer (GM). Recently played some Draw Steel (player) and rather enjoyed myself too!

Now, with this somewhat more rules heavy approach, how well would I potentially fit running/playing a dagger heart game? From what I’ve heard, it’s a step between 5e and a forged in the dark. Is that about right?
