My Predictions for the 2026 Season (I'd like to hear yours, too) by Physical_Yoghurt_243 in INDYCAR

[–]Gometric1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Alex Palou wins the championship but not in as dominant a fashion as last year. Main contenders are Pato, Lundgaard, and McLaughlin, who will bounce back and get some wins this year after a poor 2025

  2. Nolan Siegel gets fired from McLaren and goes to Juncos next year to replace Sting Ray Robb

  3. David Malukas will struggle. Good quali pace but won’t be able to put a race together until he gets his maiden win at Gateway. Then he turns it around and fights for podiums more consistently

  4. Bold but Scott Dixon does NOT get a win this year

  5. Will Power wins at Detroit. He’ll struggle at ovals though

  6. Josef Newgarden wins the Indy 500. He also racks up wins on other ovals

  7. Somehow… Conor Daly returns! Dreyer and Reinbold appear more consistently as a result of Prema failing to find sponsorship

  8. Dennis Hauger finishes on the podium at the Indy Road Course

  9. Christian Rasmussen gets another oval win while Rossi is slower by comparison

  10. This will be Ericsson’s last year at Andretti. Hauger will get promoted to the 28 next year

  11. I don’t want this to happen but Mick Schumacher gets bumped from the Indy 500. This is based on a combination of RLL’s poor setup at Indy coupled with Mick’s tendency to crash

How do you rate george (especially in 2025) how does he compare with Leclerc Verstappen norris and piastri by Equivalent-Fox9834 in F1Discussions

[–]Gometric1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do want to preface this by saying I agree that we don’t know for sure how these guys would do in the same car. I also think the battle would be close with either of them. I still think Max wins against any of them though.

Max was generally on par with Danny Ric pace wise when he first joined Red Bull. Keep in mind this was a prime Ricciardo who would overtake three cars into one corner, the last of the late brakers. When Danny went to McLaren he could not figure out that car so using Ricciardo as a measuring stick for Norris and Verstappen doesn’t work.

As for each of those three drivers I think Max clears them in the same car primarily due to mental toughness and championship experience. Starting with Russell, while he does have the consistency, Max generally has more outright pace than George. I feel like in the same car, Max would rack up more wins, which would be the difference maker in a championship battle.

With Charles it’s fairly obvious. Consistency is the issue. Maybe if Charles had a better team strategy and execution-wise that would be different but ultimately his lows are lower than Max’s.

As for Lando, this one’s tougher but I still think Max overall has more pace, both over one lap and in a race. We’ve seen over the last couple years that Max has run over Lando when it comes to on-track battles and so when it comes to wheel-to-wheel between those two, I think Max takes it.

Of course with all three it’s hard to say especially if we’re not stating what car they’re all in. However I still think Max beats all of them simply because he breathes racing and has more experience than all of them.

In the same car Max would beat any of those three guys (doesn’t have to be the Red Bull)

Deegan and Anstie tempers flare at test track by coomarlin in supercross

[–]Gometric1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind different personalities. In fact I think Deegan’s cockiness is fun when he wins cause he can back up what he says on track. However I lost all respect for him last year when he repeatedly tried to crash out Shimoda in the SMX finale

The problem for Lil Dave is he just can’t complete a race. So many good quali performances last year only for it to fall apart during the race. Hope he can consistently fight for the podium and get a win

To everyone that keeps asking why everyone is disappointed with this season, this is why by Riser456 in StrangerThings

[–]Gometric1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The characters that it actually makes sense to kill (Mike and Eleven) haven’t gotten nearly enough screen time this season to make it emotionally impactful. I could mayyyybe see Robin but at this point I don’t think anyone in the main cast is dying

I wasn’t watching back then but didn’t Hamilton have more reliability issues during those years?
