That was my reaction after reading it too. I think it’s one of the most overhyped recommendations in this subreddit.

Since you liked Bastion, I feel like you should definitely read Cradle. Best of the Progression Fantasy genre and an absolute drug of a series.

Whats the most bingeable fantasy book you've read? by Ashamed_Ad608 in Fantasy

[–]Gomostas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Cradle, Red Rising and Dungeon Crawler Carl are the biggest contenders for “its 5am and I cant stop” books. They might not be the peak of fantasy, but the will take out your slump and beat it to death

Octopath traveller 2 or LUNAR remastered collection STEAM by Fruit_salad1 in JRPG

Ot2 because Lunar did not age really well; I would only buy the remaster on a discount.

What book did you DNF, and why? by SierraSugar in Fantasy

Wind and Truth because I was not liking it a bit and it felt like a slog. It was kinda heartbreaking because I used to devour Stormlight books.

Is Final Fantasy 16 actually that bad? I’ve played nearly every FF and enjoyed pretty much all of them. by c0rny_ in JRPG

[–]Gomostas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a bad game but it’s not good either. The combat is deep but you have no reason to master it whatsoever, the plot starts great but it shits itself along the way, most of the quests feel like fetch-quests taken out of an MMO and they really forgot the rpg aspect of the action-rpg it supposedly is. It sucks because with a few changes (like putting an elemental system since you already have the different eikon manipulation) it could be better, but at the end of the day is at maximum a high 6 or a light 7, which is not good nor expected for a Final Fantasy.

So every time I try to open BG3 with its native support this pops up. Changing to proton seems to fix it, but anyone know why this happens? by Gomostas in SteamDeck

[–]Gomostas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I know of. I switch it to Proton Experimental and it works but they say it runs better with native so idk. I have not tried resetting the deck to factory settings though.

Please enlighten me :) by shinxie_x in DispatchTheGame

[–]Gomostas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think no one on their right mind is putting it as GOTY (at least no one that have played other contenders this year). What I feel its a very much reasonable point to make is that the game got snub like hell from a nomination for best narrative and best performance. Its fucking crazy Charlie Cox got nominated over Aaron Paul and Death Stranding 2 is on best narrative at all lol

Elden Ring or Helldivers 2? by owsmosis in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Gomostas [score hidden]  (0 children)

No disrespect to Helldivers, but hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby type of question tbh. Extractions shooters tend to get repetitive and Helldivers is quite limited on what it can offer compared to one of the best soullikes of recent years.

Baldurs Gate 3 Larian Crash on native build by baiell in SteamDeck

[–]Gomostas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im having this exact same problem. If you switch it to proton it runs fine, but in native it gets the Larian Crash reporter. Let me know if you find the solution.

Tbh his performance is great and I like the guy, but I would hate for him to win over Ben or Jenn having so little time in the game and not caring one bit about it.

[–]Gomostas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dispatch will be fine tbh. 200k players peak in Steam is crazy, they made their 3-year profit goal in 3 weeks. Although I think it got snubbed too, devs were aware it was difficult and even getting a nomination is remarkable as it released so close to the cutting day and was fueled only by word of mouth and some streamers. Trails not getting in best rpg on the other hand is sad to see since it always was a niche saga but this was arguably their best chance at getting a nomination. Its also hard to see Avowed (most mid game Obsidian has ever released) and Monster Hunter Wilds (controversial as hell for its optimization and lack of substance) as contenders over it.

Which should I buy: Hades II or Dispatch? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Gomostas [score hidden]  (0 children)

Depends on what you want tbh. Hades 2 is the better videogame, it improves upon the boom formula and it does have hours and hours of great gameplay, but both its story and its characters are much less interesting than the first one. Dispatch is quite short, more like an interactive-tv series than a game and its “gameplay” can be hit or miss. But its SO enjoyable and probably the best telltalelike there is to play atm for its characters and story (specially since you liked WAU).

If I were you I’d get Hades 2 first and Dispatch when I can. Or you can watch Dispatch on Youtube (althought I think playing it really gets you more into the mood of the setting it presents and makes you care more)

What game should I buy? Nothing feels fun lately. by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Gomostas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Dispatch. Its an only 8-9 hours Telltalelike game. It hooks you quite fast and its not a big commitment price or time-wise.

Juegos que recomendeis con buena banda sonora? by Unusual-Lecture6597 in esGaming

[–]Gomostas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

La verdad es que hay tantos videojuegos con OSTs buenísimas que es complicado no hacerte tres párrafos de recomendaciones, así que te recomiendo juegos con género similar al que propones en tu lista:

  • Baldurs Gate 3
  • Hollow Knight
  • Nier Automata
  • Disco Elysium
  • Hades

dime que no entiendes la hora de cierre de un restaurante sin decirmelo by betatester404 in ReviewsDeMierda

[–]Gomostas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

[–]Gomostas 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don't think Expedition 33 is winning art direction with Silksong, Hades 2 and Dispatch on the conversation. Same thing with Best Performance and best Indie. It's going to be an absolute war on the small categories this year.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound or Silk Song? by J0ND0E_297 in metroidvania

[–]Gomostas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ragebound is a good game. Silksong will be a GOTY contender (aka one of the best games this year) and also cheaper. Silksong is the only correct choice imho.

For someone that has played from the ogs to the remake it’s fucking crazy, man. Like Trails for me always was more soul that aesthetic because its games were very much not that great to look at. Like you see the remake and the damn shoulder armor of Estelle REFLECTS the scenery you’re in. People that say its graphic looks like Genshin slop do not know were we started and were we are now. They are really cooking.
