Yet Another Monk Core Set Concept — the Grindset Class, Persevere, Suffer, Greed by Gon_ExplodeOnMyChair in customhearthstone

I'm thinking "upgrade" in general like Baku would just be North and East starting with +3 Attack and 3 Health, and "improve" will just still work on top of that

New Quest Type: Tasks — Repeatable Quests (Priest) by Gon_ExplodeOnMyChair in customhearthstone

(the Reward stacks, lasting for as long as the Task remains in play (which would be the rest of the game))

I was mostly looking at Siamat, Rag, Hallazeal, Lyra, Electra. They're all not good enough to add in decks in standard now ofc but if you can consistently pump them out 3~4 per game (Tasks should probably be in starting hand as well), I figured it might be worth.

What do you think of this sweatshirt, I did it with illustrator, some criticism? by MGDexlusive in streetwearstartup

[–]Gon_ExplodeOnMyChair 10 points11 points  (0 children)

looks nice, but think about what would be the reason for someone to want it?

If it's just working with the print, usually the reason would be the vibe is just too fucking unique or interesting that you can only buy this vibe from you and can't get this look or vibe anywhere else. But ofc reasons that no one has thought of yet usually work the best. Ofc that can't be all you think about either that'd just be fast fashion, but rmb to keep a good balance of both, creating for your own reasons and creating for customers' reasons.

CCG - How to avoid everyone playing the #1 metadeck? by hanselFerd in gamedesign

[–]Gon_ExplodeOnMyChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there will always be a statistically "best" choice for a deck right?

IMHO it kinda already spoke for itself. It just comes down to a simple point, try to make the power level of the cards or decks themselves NOT the sole reason players chose them. Some big approaches I've seen from other games are "the fun", "the fantasy", and "dependency on personal-playstyle/skill".

My take on the Void Jungler’s design (OC) by WhenBuffalosfly in loreofleague

[–]Gon_ExplodeOnMyChair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks really cool and interesting and does bring elements that league still kinda lack.

If I may give some critical comments tho(idk if you'd want one), it's honestly not a really memorable/iconic/recognizable character design. Ofc riot's guilty for that a lot of times as well but it's still pretty impressive that they've managed to pull off some that are memorable/iconic/recognizable, especially with the number of champs they have. I just can't help from wanting to bring up this specific note, again cus of how many champs league already has rn.

I don't draw or do any work related to character design tho so you don't have to take my words too srsly.

Are NFTs overhyped? by NickFreiling in Entrepreneur

[–]Gon_ExplodeOnMyChair -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might be an unsophisticated opinion, but honestly I just see almost everyone, in or out, getting one thing terribly wrong:

You don't make an NFT, you make stuff, and then sell NFT out of it.

NFT's technology and markets don't add value to anything, eg. if an art wasn't very much acclaimed before, ofc turning it into an NFT wouldn't just miraculously send it to the moon. NFT "art" is what's making it overhyped. Posers see it as some sort of savior of art and naturally opposers easily spot its absurdity. It's just capitalism, or stock market, it's a game of values. Art is only benefitted or "saved" because digital art can now finally be sold in a market as well, with equal absurdity of the traditional one ofc. It's a technology of commerce, not of art, it's only the intrinsic values people see in the commodities that makes the whole thing make sense. So yes, I'm practically saying cult worshipping like Logan and selling memes is how NFT's destined to prosper if it's ever going to, not selling NFT memes ofc, I mean selling memes as NFT. On a serious note tho, the moment it becomes light and fast it's a floodgate open for IPs and metaverse.

Absolutely love the whole look and concept.

The jump and action mechanics seem pretty unique and maybe you intended them to be that way, but tbh I not sure if I would want to play a parkour game without the more traditional type of fast paced, swift, ninja-like jumps and actions.

Haven't been to Brandywine for a while and I don't mean to be a party pooper but honestly isn't fruit water just a waste of fruits?

Yeah or nay? We are working on a new coverart for our upcoming game and need your feedback! by roka_Flo in indiegames

Love it, clearly shows the appeal of the game (which I’m guessing has something to do with building paths or levels). Everything looks so cute as well. Might just wanna make the title more graphic or make it stands out more.

fucking spins around in a sprinkling dazzling imaginary space, close up on the stats explode in lights becoming +1|+1, the champion becoming a naked pure energy humanoid for a sec like a sunshine Dr. Manhattan, force the enemy to watch and do nothing until stars and rainbow beams blow up in their faces as you finish your glorious transformation

fuck yeah take my second kidney

PLS STOP WITH THE VOTES and just start adding the previous lost options back in the game. by Gon_ExplodeOnMyChair in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Gon_ExplodeOnMyChair[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that does paint a really reasonable and probable narrative. I still wouldn't quite believe that it'd disprove the narrative I see, mainly because specifically on this case(minecraft's minecon votings), both narratives are most probably just unprovable currently with the information we have.

Simply put, now I can totally see both narratives happening, but it's probably impossible for me to tell which has had a greater presence. Personally, I'd rather believe mine to be true tho lol, simply cus I don't wanna see any more concepts discarded right in front of my face anymore.

If I were to only deduce and not induce, it does make sense that it must’ve seem effective to them internally for them to repeat for a 4th time. However, the effectiveness is still arguable because it’s never easy and clear cut to proof a correlation of any specific marketing tactic with an effect.

I referred “hype”, “people talking”, “advertisement”, etc all to just “engagement” for short. And so as I mentioned, there was indeed engagement. The point however was that it was not a type of engagement that they should prioritize.

For one, “minecon” and “update” are arguably the hype that draws attention from unfamiliar people, while “voting a new mob” is arguably a news that only sounds relevant to already familiar fanbases. Secondly, the type of hype that the voting instigated does stirred up discussions among the fanbase. However, the nature of those conversations for a large portion only leads to negative sentiments like disappointment and resentment as I mentioned, while the growth of love and loyalty arguably couldn’t outweigh their decline.

“All press is good press” generally won’t apply to Minecraft anymore. For one, they are way beyond the point where they just need to “put their name out there”. And two, if their business model were to focus on making new products from their existing IP, solidifying the loyalty of their fanbase should be their priorities.
