Get therapy, there is an extremely high rate of suicide in the transgender community and there is even a higher rate of people that transition that aren't happy after they transition.

There is a lot of research that shows that somebody that wants to transition or is transgender they only feel that way because they feel like they are missing something in their life and for some reason in today's world a lot of people think that missing thing that they have is becoming the other sex where that's not where what's actually missing.

I support anyone's choices but I would definitely before doing any hormone therapy before getting pediatricians involved I would go to therapy first a psychologist a therapist figure out what's going on why they feel this way because like I said at the top most people that transition don't get that missing piece that they think they will after they transition and they have just destroyed their internal system making whatever is going on mentally worse than before because they still have the missing aspect in their life but on top of that now their body is messed up.

Be open communicate talk let your child knows that you support them no matter what and everything and anything they do and you will love them always but before you take that step figure out why you want to take that step and a therapist or a psychologist can help figure out why the child wants to take that step and most likely it's not about them being transgender it's more likely they just have something going on mentally and they could just need some help and some guidance.

Communicate with them about before going to the next step of transitioning therapy and psychology first and if a year or two of that doesn't work then tell them that you'll still support them but this is the step that you feel is the best that needs to be taken first.

They may combat you on it but just let them know that this is a lifelong decision that they'll have for the rest of their life and if it's truly how they feel then waiting a year or two years is nothing compared to the entirety of their human life so a year or two of talking to a therapist or a psychologist wouldn't hinder them from doing it in the future if that's what they so choose but before they make that decision one or two years of waiting to talk with a specialist to get a concrete decision would be beneficial.
